***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 5/11/2021 On Friday, May 7, 2021, at 1600 hours, Watsontown Police received a request to investigate an incident of Harassment. A subsequent investigation found that on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 between 1700 and 1900 hours, Graydon R. Coup, 32 of Watsontown, used lewd and obscene language toward a juvenile female. Coup was charged with one summary count of Harassment. Charges were filed at District Court 08-3-02, Milton.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 12/28/2020 Watsontown Police have cited three juveniles stemming from an incident that occurred on 12/6/2020 in the Borough of McEwensville. The juveniles caused damage to the exterior of a residence located in the 2400 block of Susquehanna Trail. Two of the juveniles reside in Watsontown and the third juvenile resides in McEwensville. All three juveniles have been cited with a summary count of criminal mischief. The citations have been filed at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 1/7/2021 On Wednesday, December 29, 2020 at 1656 hours, Watsontown Police were dispatched to the Watson Mart, located at 15 Main St., for a report of a potential narcotics violation. As a result of the investigation, 24 year old Colby W. Robbins of Watsontown, was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges have been filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl of Milton.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 12/27/2020 Watsontown Police are investigating an incident where property was stolen from two vehicles that were parked in the 300 block of Liberty St. The incident occurred between 2200 hours on December 25th and 0800 hours on December 26th. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 12/27/2020 Watsontown Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at a residence in the 2400 block of Susquehanna Trail in the Borough of McEwensville on December 24th. It was reported that someone shot the storm door with a BB gun which did cause damage to the glass. ***PRESS RELEASE*** On November 23, 2020 at approximately 1256 hours, the Watsontown Police were dispatched to the 10 block of Pennsylvania Av. for a report of a hit and run. A vehicle struck a red in color Ford F-150 pickup truck that was parked at that location. The pickup truck sustained minor damage to the rear driver side of the vehicle. ***PRESS RELEASE*** On November 21, 2020 at approximately 0920 hours, the Watsontown Police investigated a crash that occurred on E. 3rd St. at the intersection of Railroad St. Miriam Deibler, of Watsontown, was operating blue in color Chevrolet Cruze sedan which struck a black in color Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was driven by a 33 year old male from Kentucky. Deibler’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Heater’s Garage.

***PRESS RELEASE*** On November 17, 2020 at approximately 1716 hours, the Watsontown Police were dispatched to 300 Pennsylvania Av. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Police were advised that 32 year old, James Artley Jr., of Watsontown, did throw a chair which struck the juvenile victim. Artley was cited with a summary count of harassment. The citation has been filed at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton.

As a result of a subsequent investigation, 31 year old Damian M. McDermott of Winfield was cited with one summary account of Disorderly Conduct, with charges being filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge, Michael I. Diehl of Milton.

The Watsontown Police would like to thank Mrs. Helen Mathias and Mr. Harry C. Mathias Jr. for the very generous donation to the Chief Carl Reed Christmas program. The donation was made on behalf of the Harry C. Mathias Sr. Charitable Foundation. Mr. Mathias Sr. was an educator at the Warrior Run School District for 33 years, coached multiple sports and was an active member of the community. ***PRESS RELEASE*** On November 6, 2020 at approximately 2156 hours, Watsontown Police were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Main St. for a report of an attempted burglary. Police were informed that an unknown male individual was attempting to gain access into the residence. Police arrived on scene and located the suspect who was identified as 29 year old, Jeffrey Barrett, of Watsontown. Barrett, who was intoxicated, stated that he thought he was attempting to enter his own residence. Barrett was issued a citation for public drunkenness.

***PRESS RELEASE*** On November 6, 2020 at approximately 1917 hours, Watsontown Police investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the 10 block of W. 5th St. Melissa Ritter, 50, of Watsontown, was operating a 2006 purple in color Scion sedan and struck a parked vehicle at that location. Ritter’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Heater’s Garage. The parked vehicle sustained minor damage. Ritter was cited with a summary count of careless driving. The citation was filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton.

***PRESS RELEASE*** On November 1, 2020 at approximately 1435 hours, the Watsontown Police were dispatched to an E. 8th St. address for a report of a domestic disturbance. It was reported that 26 year old Zachary Pokorny, of Watsontown, did strike the female victim in the forehead. Pokorny was cited with a summary count of harassment. A subsequent investigation found that Robert Flick, 36, of Watsontown, shoved a female victim to the ground during an argument. Flick was charged with one summary count of Harassment. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 11/2/2020 Watsontown Police have charged 29 year old Daniel Nye, of Sunbury, following a domestic disturbance that occurred on 10/27/2020 at approximately 2058 hours in the 100 block of E. 11th St. Nye did subject another person to unwanted physical contact and also damaged property at the Victim’s residence. Upon being taken into custody, Police did recover a small amount of methamphetamine from inside of a backpack that Nye was wearing. Nye has been charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and summary counts of harassment and criminal mischief. The charges have been filed at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 10/12/2020 Watsontown Police have charged 46 year old Larry Tickle Jr. of Watsontown, following an incident that occurred on 8/9/2020 between 0230 and 0600 hours. The investigation revealed that Tickle did have sexual contact with a juvenile female at a residence on South Main Street. Tickle has been charged with felony counts of Corruption of Minors and Unlawful Contact with a Minor and a misdemeanor count of Indecent Assault. Tickle was taken into custody on October 11, 2020 and transported to the Northumberland County Jail pending arraignment. A preliminary hearing will be held at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michel I. Diehl in Milton at a later date.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 10/11/2020 Watsontown Police investigated a crash that occurred on 9/17/2020 at approximately 1652 hours at the intersection of Susquehanna Trail and Potash Street in the Borough of McEwensville involving an SUV and a motorcycle. The SUV was operated by 42 year old Ryan Brandon, of Muncy. The motorcycle was operated by an 83 year old male from Milton. Brandon was traveling northbound on Potash Street and failed to yiel...d to right away traffic on Susquehanna Trail after stopping at the stop sign located on Potash St. The motorcycle then struck the passenger side of Brandon’s vehicle. The motorcycle operator did sustain injury and was transported to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene by Taylor’s Garage in Milton. Brandon has been charged with a felony count of Accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed and summary offenses of operating a vehicle while his operating privileges were suspended or revoked, operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license and a stop sign violation. The charges have been filed at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 10/8/20 On Thursday October 8th, 2020 at 1400 hours, Watsontown Police were called to 15 W Brimmer Ave, Lingle’s Market, for a report of a retail theft. A subsequent investigation found that 28-year-old, Joann E. Williams of New Columbia, attempted to remove merchandise from the store without paying for it. Williams was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of Retail Theft and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams was committed to Northumberland County Jail with charges being filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl of Milton.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 10/7/2020 Watsontown Police have cited 36 year old Ilya Mironenko, of New Berlin, with a summary count of harassment stemming from an incident that occurred at 9/28/2020 at approximately 1930 hours. Mironenko did randomly engage multiple women in the 10 block of E. 4th St. which did cause public alarm resulting in several calls to the Police. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 10/06/2020 Watsontown Police have charged 53 year old Scott Keister, of Milton, following an incident that occurred on 08/31/2020 at approximately 2255 hours. Keister was found sleeping in his vehicle in the middle of the roadway in the 100 block of Main St. Chemical testing revealed that Keister had methamphetamine, amphetamine and THC in his system at the time of the incident. Keister has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and a summary count of a parking on the highway. The charges have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Michael Diehl, Milton Office.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 10/2/2020 Watsontown Police have charged 46 year old, Kristi Swartz, following an incident that occurred on 9/18/2020 at approximately 0721 hours at an E. 3rd St. address. Police converged on that location in an attempt to take 31 year old Scott Schulte, into custody on warrants out of Dauphin County. Knowing that Police were at her residence for a wanted person, Swartz failed to open the door for several minutes as requested. An Offic...er observed Swartz and Schulte standing inside of the apartment through an open window in the front of the building. Police forced entry into the residence and Schulte was taken into custody. Schulte was then turned over to the Lower Paxton Township Police Department and later incarcerated in the Daupin County Jail. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of Release: 10/2/2020 On Friday, October 2nd, 2020 at 1440 hours, Watsontown Police assisted the Pennsylvania State Constable Fugitive Recovery Unit with serving two felony warrants at 115 S Main St, Watsontown. During the warrant service, 39-year- old William G. Dehaas, of Watsontown was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Dehaas was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Charges have been filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge, Michael I. Date of release: 10/1/2020 The Watsontown Police are attempting to locate a vehicle that was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of Hemlock Aly. on October 1st at approximately 1750 hours. An older model black in color Kia Sportage SUV with a Florida registration struck an individual in a wheelchair at the intersection of Hemlock Aly. and W. Brimmer Av. The vehicle should have minor damage on the front driver side bumper. The Victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. ***STALKING \ HARASSMENT INCIDENTS*** Date of release: 9/29/2020 The Watsontown Police are attempting to identify a male involved in multiple stalking / harassment incidents that occurred on 9/28/2020 between the hours of 1930 and 2100 hours. A male approached several females during this time period in the area of E. 4th St. and Pennsylvania Av. The individual is described as a white male in his early 30’s, approximately 6’0 tall, slender build, with short... brown hair. The male was last seen wearing a blue in color tank top, black shorts and sandals. The male was operating a dark blue in color Toyota Rav4 SUV at the time of the incidents. Watsontown Police are asking that anyone with information contact our Department at (570)538-2773 or the Central Susquehanna Regional 911 Center at (570)742-8771. We also request that anyone involved in any type future incidents report them immediately by calling 911.

***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 9/20/2020 Watsontown Police have charged 43 year old Andrew Keister, of Lewisburg, following an incident that occurred between 0001 and 0300 hours on 9/20/2020. Police were dispatched to a South Main St. residence for a report of a burglary that had occurred. Police were advised that the Victim came home and noticed that multiple items in her home were damaged. The suspect, Keister, entered the residence without the Vic...tim’s knowledge and damaged property while inside. Keister departed the residence and then came back just prior to Police arrival. Keister was taken into custody and charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, along with a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. Keister was transported to the Northumberland County Jail where he is being held pending his preliminary arraignment. A preliminary hearing will be held at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton at a later date. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 9/16/2020 Watsontown Police have charged 29 year old Brent Cawley, of Watsontown, following an incident that occurred on 9/16/2020 at approximately 1130 hours at 300 Pennsylvania Av. in the Borough of Watsontown. Police were dispatched to that address for a report of a fight in progress and Cawley was detained shortly after Police arrival. After speaking to the Victim and witnesses, it was determined that Cawley grabbed th...e Victim around the neck area causing injury. Cawley has been charged with misdemeanor counts of strangulation and simple assault and a summary count of harassment. Cawley was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl and bail was set at $15,000.00 unsecured, supervised bail through the Northumberland County Adult Probation Office. A preliminary hearing is set for 9/30/2020 at Judge Diehl’s Office in Milton. Shade has been charged with a misdemeanor count of driving a vehicle while his operating privileges were suspended for a prior DUI conviction and summary offenses of driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle with an expired inspection and operating a vehicle without insurance. ***PRESS RELEASE*** Date of release: 9/9/2020 On Wednesday , September 9th, 2020 at 1356 hours, Watsontown Police conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of the Susquehanna Trail, McEwensville. A subsequent investigation by the K9 Unit found that 25-year-old Storm G. Brown, of Northumberland was in possession of narcotics and was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Brown was arrested for Misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI. Charges are pending and will be filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl of Milton.

On August 17, 2020 at approximately 1312 hours, Watsontown Police were dispatched to a residence on East 11th Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was determined that, Daniel William NYE, 29, 111 E. Main Street, Fredericksburg, Pa 17026, had assaulted a nine year old child by punching and slapping him. NYE was also causing a disturbance at the residence. NYE was immediately taken into custody by Watsontown Police. Charges filed at District Judge Mich...ael I. On August 13, 2020 at 0739 hrs, officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival to an apartment, Yuriy GUSSEV, 23years old, 125 Main Street, Watsontown, met Chief WITHERITE and Officer SNYDER at the front door. GUSSEV initially scuffled with officers and was taken into custody without further incident. GUSSEV had assaulted a female victim several times by kicking her and charges have been filed at District Judge Michael I. Diehl’s Office for Harassment. Subsequently, the Pa. State Police also took GUSSEV into custody for an unrelated incident.

Watsontown Police have cited 56 year old Tina Jenkins of Watsontown and 33 year old Nathaniel Jenkins of Lewisburg, following a disturbance that occurred on Friday, August 07, 2020 at 1519 at 38 Pennsylvania Ave. in Watsontown. Tina Jenkins and Nathaniel Jenkins both subjected each other to unwanted physical contact during the altercation. Both individuals have been cited with a summary count of Harassment. On Sunday, July 14, 2020 at 1600 Watsontown Police K9 Unit assisted the Northumberland Montour County Drug Task Force and the PA State Police from the Stonington barracks with a drug investigation at 266 Badman’s Hill Rd. Paxinos, PA. K9 Mariska was used inside the residence where she located narcotics and assorted drug paraphernalia. PA State Police from the Stonington barracks is continuing the investigation.

On Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 2118, Watsontown Police received a report of an assault which occurred at the Mansion House Bar & Grill, 201 Main St. Watsontown. An investigation by police found the owner of the above establishment, 56-year-old John T. Wuerdeman of Lewisburg, assaulted a male employee, who was working at the time. Wuerdeman struck the employee with closed fists several times in the head, chest and arms, causing injury. Wuerdeman was charged with one count of Simple Assault a misdemeanor of the second degree and one summary count of Harassment. Charges against Wuerdeman have been filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl of Milton.

On Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 1630, Watsontown Police investigated a report of Harassment made by a member of the If Not Us, Then Who? organization. During the planned protest held on that day at the intersection of Main St. and Brimmer Avenue., the victim reported unwanted physical contact by a member of the group that was counter-protesting. The victim and several witnesses identified 51-year-old Margaret A. Yordy of Dewart, as the actor. Through an investigation it was found that Yordy did subject the victim to unwanted physical contact while in front of the Mansion House Bar & Grill during the protest. Yordy was cited with one count of summary Harassment. Charges were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl of Milton.

Watsontown Police have charged 49 year old, Jason A. Tolliver, of Milton, following an incident that occurred on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 2153 in the 100 block of Main St. Police stopped Tolliver for a traffic violation. Tolliver was then taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Chemical testing showed that Tolliver had a BAC of .244% at the time of testing. Police have charged Tolliver with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence. Tolliver was also charged with summary counts of failing to drive on the right side of the roadway and operating a vehicle with an expired registration. The charges have been filed at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton.

Watsontown Police have arrested 56 year old Vernon Ward Turner Jr of Watsontown. Turner was charged with summary counts of Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness. Turner was under the influence of alcohol when he argued with another person causing a disturbance in the 500 block of Ash St. at approximately 2255 on June 26, 2020. Citations against Turner were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl, Milton.

On Friday, June 26, 2020 at 2207 , Watsontown Police were dispatched to the 100 block of E Brimmer Avenue for a disturbance. During the investigation, 36-year-old Joshua E. Snyder of Watsontown was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Northumberland County Court of Common Pleas, for an underlying Theft offense. Snyder was committed to the Northumberland County Jail on the warrant.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 1130, The Watsontown Police K9 Unit was contacted to assist the Coal Township Police Department, Northumberland County District Attorney’s Office and Northumberland County Jail administration with a narcotics investigation on the campus of the Northumberland County Jail. K9 Mariska was deployed and was able to locate narcotics inside the jail, belonging to a contracted employee of the facility. The Coal Township Police Department is conducting the criminal investigation.

Currently there is a borough wide electric power outage. Watsontown Dept. of Public Works and Electric crews have responded. According to DPW, the outage appears to be a PPL issue. PLEASE USE CAUTION when driving on Main Street. The traffic lights are out. Stop signs and Fire Police are providing traffic control.

Watsontown Police have cited 55 year old Jeffrey Rachau, of Watsontown, with one count of failing to properly secure his dog within his own property. Rachau’s dog was found running at large on Monday, June 01, 2020 at approximately 1700 on the property of another borough resident. Watsontown Police have cited 31 year old, Joseph Rubendall Jr., of Watsontown, with careless driving following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 2134. Rubendall did strike two pedestrians with his vehicle in the 500 block of Ash St. Both pedestrians sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment on scene. The citation has been filed at the Office of Magisterial District Judge Michael I. Diehl in Milton.
