This month’s Technical Rescue Training focused on our technical search equipment. Crews reviewed tactics and setup procedures for the ConSpace Delsar System, Co...nSpace Hasty Search Kit and SearchCam 3000. Members deployed the sensors from the Delsar across the rubble pile to detect life and then utilized the search cameras to locate victims trapped within the collapse rubble. Crews then received a demonstration of two types of drones from Technicians Martin Helmke and Jim Leon. See more

Berwyn firefighters traveled to the West Chester Fire Department Training Center today for the final quarterly structural burn session of the year. Personnel p...racticed hoseline evolutions, extinguishment of basement fires and used the thermal imaging camera (TIC). The TIC is an invaluable tool that assists with searching for victims in a smoke filled environment and with locating fire inside walls. Thank you to Assistant Chief Christopher Bullock, Battalion Chief Evan Brazunas and Captain Joshua Lichman for coordinating these important trainings.

The Executive Board of the West Chester Fire Department Training Center are deeply saddened to hear of the loss that Marple Township Police Department suffered yesterday. We stand side by side with all of our brothers and sisters in blue in mourning this sudden and tragic loss. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families and officers affected by this tragedy.

Talleyville volunteers and paid staff spent the morning at West Chester Fire Department Training Center. Evolutions included structural fire suppression and search and rescue operations in live fire conditions. Upper Chichester Squad 10 provided the cover assignment for Station 25.
