The snow has started please be safe and make sure you have everything you need. While you’re out cleaning off your sidewalks and vehicles please take a few moments to clear a fire hydrant in your neighborhood.

Today at 1:00pm your volunteers responded to Amity township, Berks County for a reported house fire. Tanker 57 was dispatched and responded with 4. Police reported fire from the roof of the house. Engine 57 was also added to the call for manpower and responded with a crew of 3. Crews cleared the call shortly after 2:00pm. Great work by all companies on scene!

Last night members delivered Christmas to a family in West Pottsgrove Twp. For the last several years we’ve adopt a family from the community. This year the members and officers contributed to deliver Christmas to the family.

The West End Fire Company has been providing fire protection services to West Pottsgrove Township for 110 years. Our dedicated volunteers provide countless hours of service day and night. Our plan is to continue to provide those fire protection services for the foreseeable future. We realize that times are tough financially for a lot of people and we are going through the same financial struggles as many of you are. While there may have been some poor financial internal dec...isions in the past, this never once jeopardized the safety of you, the public that we serve. We are implementing internal procedures to avoid this from happening ever again. We believe that our response model provides the best possible level of service available and don’t believe it should change. We are an active Fire Company and are still able to respond to emergency calls with trained firefighters. We will continue to work with your municipal leaders to move forward in a positive direction. We believe as we move to the future, cooperation with the Township will be essential. There is a solid group of trained men and women dedicated to your safety at 112 Rice Street.
