West End Ambulance

This afternoon I received word the one of our Emergency Medical Technicians had passed away Nick Ney started working day shift for Union County West End Ambula...nce in June of 2020 Over the past year I have worked along side of Nick on numerous occasions. He always approached patient care with a positive attitude. Nick ask in May if I could replace him on the 2 shifts he was scheduled for in the early part of June. Nick knew I would find a way for him to have the time off. Time off wasn't something Nick often took for himself. He was committed to public service with Fire and EMS in several area departments. Nick I will miss that smiling face, and our numerous discussions. Rest easy Nick we will take it from here. See more

Our Condolences go out to the family of Nick Ney, as well as his coworkers at Evangelical Regional Mobil Medical Services. Nick was also one of ours. He covered Day Shift EMT slots as needed. We will miss Nicks sense of humor, as well as his caring way of dealing with patients. Rest easy Nick we will take from here.

Our 2020 Ford F550 equipped with a Chief XL patient compartment in moving along in production at Braun Ambulances. The new rig replaces ambulance 27-2 a 2008 E450 from Braun.

Every year West End Ambulance takes part in the Union County West End Fair. However this year we will not be at the fair. The guidelines issued by the PA. Dept of Health limit our participation. We will have an ambulance crew at the station all week during evening fair hours. Everyone is reminded to follow state guidelines while attending the fair.

We are in for a stretch of temps in the 90 degree range so stay hydrated

Our condolences to Northwest EMS of Elizabethtown after the line of duty death of Paramedic Doug Zima. Our best to the team at NWEMS and the Zima family as they begin to grieve.

I don't often take the opportunity to say thank you to the volunteers, and our paid staff for their service to our communities. During the past 10+ weeks they have responded to calls often not knowing what they were going to be confronted with. Our annual membership drive will soon be hitting mailboxes. So be on the look out. This year seems more pressing than others due to the recent status of the world. Also we have included an additon call for help, asking for volunteers to join our ranks. Hope you all are staying safe and Thank You from all of us at the Union County West End Ambulance Association

I would like to take time and acknowledge the fast action of two of our volunteer members for their care of the infant and expecting mother involved in the recent vehicle vs bicycle accident. Thank you for your service and continued dedication to those in the community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Careccia family as well as with the officers, members and employees of the Woodbridge Township Ambulance & Rescue Squad. We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of your Chief, John Careccia. May he Rest In Peace.
