Give Local York is LIVE and we are raising funds today for our musicians and stage as What the Food Trucks returns to Penn Park in 2021! Your support helps bring event life safely back to York!
It's 2021 and we're coming back, baby. But first, like many other events that were forced to shut down last year, we need your help. Love your favorite Labor Day Sunday food truck festival? Consider making a small donation this Friday on Give Local York Big Give Day! Your contributions help us come back bigger and better than ever.
Any other year, Penn Park would be full of 40+ trucks, vendors, breweries, and more than 20K of you. We wish a lot of things... We wish that COVID wasn't hurting so many people. Real people getting sick, and too many people dying.... We wish that businesses like our vendors, food trucks, breweries, and friends weren't suffering. That we could enter stores without masks. That we could go back to what "normal" was. We wish that the world wasn't full of so much hate. And we wish that you here with us at Penn Park today. With your loved ones, with your community. Hugging your friends and family, sharing some food with a beer or two. Living without fear. We will need you and our sponsors more than ever to bring What the Food Trucks back and bigger than ever. Because once this is all over, we'll still need each other. And we'll need a kick-ass food truck party. 9.5.2021 See you there. We love you, York.
For our team, the goal behind What the Food Trucks has always been community. From bringing 20,000+ people into the City of York to combat its alleged parking and crime problems to welcoming everyone into Penn Park for a day together. We are problem solvers. Give us a challenge and we’ll come up with the logistics to make it happen. We’ve been racking our brains to bring people together safely, said Kate Harmon, one of the event’s organizers. But at the end of the day, we... believe in staying true to our word and our focus on community. It’s our role to do what’s necessary to support and protect it. Due to the size of Penn Park, previous year’s crowds of over 20,000 people, and the easy access to the park, we believe it is neither possible nor responsible for us to host an event of this size. We can tightly control the logistics of events like Taste of Pennsylvania and Yorktoberfest, but an event of WTFT’s size is impossible without losing the essence of what we’re trying to do, and it puts the community we love at risk. We will see you in 2021. Stay tuned to announcements from CrocodileDog Marketing if we can pull off any other smaller events this year.
Tune in to the Give Local York Finale Party and you might recognize these guys! It's RalphReal and the Family Band! They've played at WTFT, and your donations today support local musicians just like them at our events! Just under 2 hours to go! https://www.givelocalyork.org/organiza/what-the-food-trucks
