Tails were wagging on Thursday, October 22, 2020 when White Dog Cafe Glen Mills presented Alpha Bravo Canine and Brandywine Valley SPCA each with a check for $13,195.00. The funds were raised by White Dog Cafe Glen Mills before opening when they offered the community the opportunity to immortalize their pup with a painting of their favorite fur baby, immortalized in a portrait that hangs at the restaurant with the dogs’ name and hometown. The gallery includes 52 custom painti...ngs, in an array of sizes created by local artist Jay McClellan who donated half the fee of each of the paintings to Brandywine Valley SPCA and Alpha Bravo Canine, a local organization which provides service dogs free of charge to former military with PTSD. McClellan’s bright and cheery works also cover the walls at White Dog Cafe Haverford and at White Dog University City. His paintings juxtapose bold colors with graphic patterns and unique designs. In addition to the custom painting that will hang at White Dog Glen Mills, McClellan gave those that purchased the paintings the original drawing of the painting (a $250 value).
