The Whitehall Fire Department has shuttered its Cementon station, one of five the volunteer fire department operates in the township.

Congrats to Greg Mertz on earning his Shamrock for his first fire as an interior firefighter. Great job!

12/18/2020 From Mayor Harakal: I have redistributed Township Firetrucks and related equipment from Cementon Station 40 to other Stations in our system. At this time no equipment will be dispatched from Cementon. Relocation of trucks will involve movement within the Township system at Stations 39 (Egypt), 38 (Hokendaqua) and 37 (West Catasauqua). These moves have been made to provide quicker response times and in the interest of the health and safety of our residents, which must be our priority. Staff will be reassigned to another stations as required.

Whitehall Bureau of Fire responded to Rascals cheesesteak for a fire today initial report was heavy smoke coming from the structure. It was upgraded to a working fire. It was quickly put under control. During this time we had a fluid spill that we took care of as well.

Whitehall Bureau of Fire responded to a MVA on Hwy 22 just before the Fullerton exit yesterday evening. The van had ran into the back of a dump truck and then caught fire the driver had self extricated themselves prior to our arrival and the vehicle was quickly extinguished.
