YORK, Pa. (WHTM) The York City Police Department (York, Pa) is starting a new program to help officers better respond to calls and protect the community. It’s... called the Handle With Care registry. The idea is to give officers knowledge of people with medical or mental health issues to prevent any problems before they arrive on scene. He’s only been on the job for one month and York City Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow is making big changes. The more we can do to empower the officers and give them the tools and resources they need is what we’re charged with doing as law enforcement leaders, Muldrow said.

October 1972 my grandfather Clarence Spahr opened The M&M Lounge in York, PA and it has been in my family ever since. You may say It’s just another bar on some ...corner but for my family and all the patrons that have frequently visited, they will tell you it’s more than just that corner bar. I feel so sad right now that my Aunt is unable to keep it open. It’s not like she doesn’t have the customers to keep it open, it’s the government preventing her from opening and making a living. It is so heartbreaking that the future of almost a 50 year family business is in the hands of our government. Praying she can reopen in full capacity soon. See more

"Philadelphia experiment") have concluded: "Officers strategically placed, Walking Foot Patrols, in High Crime Neighborhoods, DOES dramatically ImpactViolent Crime"... *see 2019, PBS article: https://whyy.org//the-police-experiment-that-changed-what/ Even in a city as "TOUGH" as Philadelphia; the 2009 study was able to "SHOW & PROVE" a 23% reduction in Violent Crime (i.e.; Robberies and Murders). ------------------------------------------ So, "IN CONCLUSION": IF a Department is ABLE to do Foot Patrols (i.e. "Walk"), and deploy them in a purposeful way..........
