Our new girls are working hard! Lots and lots of honey

Yesterday’s hive inspections went smoothly and all three got new boxes added. This particular hive of Saskatraz bees built some really wacky, horizontal comb.

With all of this down time, we are getting honey ready to sell and redoing our hive areas in prep for our new bees. We have 11 oz jars and a few 42 oz jars labeled and ready for a no contact porch pickup. My Nana swears by local honey for treating and minimizing seasonal allergies. ... People often ask me if I have wax to sell and my answer is always that we just don’t produce enough wax to sell it. It’s also a very messy process to get to clean wax. Here are some pictures from this week. (We will be using this wax to make candles for the first time)

Everything here is coated in honey and/or wax. And it is not nearly as romantic as you might think. But if you want honey we have some jarred up. It’s $15 a pound for raw. We will have some soon that has been heated to remove wax, so not raw and that will be $10 a pound.

We have so much soap available (FINALLY!) Up next is harvesting some honey.

Our girls are working hard!

It was a ROUGH winter for our girls here, but we are back to three fully operational hives. Two with Russian queens and one with an Italian queen. The trees are also full of nectar and pollen, so the girls are working hard to make Spring honey. We do still have some Fall 2018 honey remaining if you are interested!

We finally have some soaps and scrubs ready! We also have a very limited amount of honey left.

Come out this Saturday for some goodies. There will also be hand made jewelry and some interesting hand made fantastical creatures to adopt.
