Wilde Funeral Home 02.12.2020

Out of concern for the health of your family and our community, Wilde Funeral Home is recommending the following funeral guidelines as we all work to diminish the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic: As funerals are often attended by those most at-risk, and many carriers of COVID-19 are undiagnosed and without symptoms, we want to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC by prohibiting gatherings of more than 10 people. This means we will not be offering public viewings and vi...sitations at the funeral home until the prohibition is lifted (our recommendations for private viewings are below). We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience as we know how important funerals are, but we also want you to know that we will continue serving our community to the best of our ability. During this trying time, some families have already made the decision to have a celebration of life service for their loved one after the pandemic is over. If, however, a private viewing for the immediate family is desired at the funeral home during this time, and the immediate family exceeds 10 people, we ask that the viewing take place in intervals of 10 people or less. We also ask that those intervals take place within a specific timeframe (ex., from 10 AM until 11 AM) and that the timeslots for each group within that timeframe be organized by the family for your own safety. If full-body burial is desired, open-air private graveside services are a possible alternative as cemeteries provide ample space to keep the recommended six feet distance. A casket can be open at a cemetery for viewing the deceased as well. We can accommodate video-conferencing at-need arrangement meetings if you cannot leave your house. If requested, we can also accommodate broadcasting a funeral on Facebook Live at our Wilde Funeral Home Facebook page for family and friends who are unable to attend. We promise that we will do our best to protect you, your family, and the community from potential exposure to COVID-19. And we ask you to do the same. If you are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, please keep yourself isolated. The Wilde Funeral Home has served this community through the Civil War, the Great Depression, the Spanish Influenza, and both World Wars, and we will continue to do so today. We love you all and please continue to stay safe. Sincerely, Bud Wilde, Bill Wilde, James Wilde, Caleb Wilde, and Nathan Beideman.
