Happy New Year!

Williams Custom Cues & Consulting 01.01.2021

I obviously have to re-evaluate my pricing. I see postings of cues being sold for much more than what I would be charging. I have always strived to be fair about the pricing of my cues. Whether I make one or one hundred the base prices will remain the same. The inlay work and other specialty work is added accordingly. As for inlay and specialty work, I love building themed cues. Allow me time and freedom to design you something special. The work will reflect that conside...ration and always to your favor. I have to go work on the base prices.

I started my journey into cue-making in 1992 working with Paul Mottey. Initially, I did some programming to operate one of his machines. I stayed on for summer work. Then stayed on full time when fall arrived. I loved the work. I learned all I could. There was great chemistry and each of us pushed the other to do their best. We did some absolutely insane cues that were unseen after leaving the shop. Many are in Japan. I didn't even photograph many of them. I started c...onsulting, doing drawings and programming in 2002. I did work for Paul and Tim Scruggs. I also did work outside of the pool industry. My Dad and I started manufacturing cues a few years later. Things were great until my Dad started dropping things and falling down. They weren't sure of the problem. He was forced into retirement. It was great having my Dad around the shop. He condition continued to worsen. He was falling more. He had a few tumbles on the upstairs steps. The shop being in the basement was becoming more off limits. I worked in a medical computer lab while attending Pitt. I researched my Dad's symptoms. I came to the conclusion that he was suffering from Inclusion Body Myositis. A firm of Muscular Dystrophy that basically atrophies the appendages. About two months later, biopsies and the nuerologist confirmed it. No cure, no treatments, nothing, not even an idea. My Dad was still shuffling about the house. We had stair climbers. I built a lift that elevated him to the landing. Then one night, he fell in the bathroom. He fractured his arm. He was not able to get around anymore. He was now bedridden by the disease. I spent plenty of time with my Dad during this time. Bouncing ideas off of him. Trying for us both to make him feel useful. Even if he wasn't in the shop. My Dad passed in July of 2016.

The rules on the buying, selling, importing, exporting and using African Elephant Ivory. These rules are top of the already rigorous C.I.T.E.S regulations. https://www.fws.gov///ivory-ban-questions-and-answers.html
