We just returned from a winter wonderland 4 day retreat as a family and stayed at the Hemlock cabin. After being greeted by Tom and his gang of pups (seriously ...this set the tone of the whole getaway) We got to see our cabin and let me say that words alone could not describe how adorable this cabin was, from the structure itself having a very home like log cabin feel to the decorations. You could feel the love and pride that went into making it. Tom was amazing in ensuring our staying was perfect and I can honestly say there is nothing that they could have done to make it any better. Now let’s talk about what to do especially if you’re like my family who enjoys a good adventure. We brought all the snow gear (including the snowmobiles). Literally minutes from our cabin we were on the ANF snowmobile trails that are maintained by Willow Creek Snowmobile club. From there the we could go anywhere. We spent a couple days heading up ANF1 trail or the Indian Pipe trail which took us right into Allegany state park New York where we drove around stopped to check out Thunder rocks, Stone Tower, and the playground for our 7 year old. On the other days we took a PA trail through Marilla ridge road. Both have us some beautiful scenery and lead us back to camp where we warmed up quickly with the fireplace and enjoyed hot meals made in the kitchen. We also took a 35-40 minute drive to Art Roscoe in ASP and xc but after making the drive we found a place just up the road from camp that while ungroomed was just as nice to ski around at Marilla Reservoir. This also opened up other places that we will make a point to explore when we return. As the Tuna Valley trail association has a wonderful little network of trails. So what can you do when you stay at Willow Creek Cabins? Literally everything snowmobile snowshoe xc ski and hike and that is just for the winter.
