Burpee Seeds are here! Can Spring be far behind? Did you know - W. Atlee Burpee's father expected him to become a doctor but the 18 year old Philadelphia boy loved the outdoors, plants and animals. He talked his mother into loaning him $1000 to start his own business. In 1876 his company began selling poultry and livestock by mail order. He quickly realized it was a lot easier to ship plants and seeds. In 1888 he bought Fordhook, a farm near Doylestown. The farm became world famous for plant development and within 25 years Burpee had developed the largest, most progressive seed company in America. When W. Atlee died in 1915 his company was mailing out a million catalogs a year.

Celebratory overindulgence before his big day earned Lansdale Larry a night in Lansdale Borough Police Department custody. After thirty years! Joe and I sold Wilson's last year. We're happy, we're sad, we're nostalgic, we're excited about the future. The store's been our baby, you've been our friends. Joe's still in a few days a week to help the new owners with locks and contract hardware. I'm pretty much retired except for this Facebook page and some freelance work. We'll always treasure memories of our little store that could and did, our community, our business neighbors and most of all of y...ou - our wonderful customers who afforded us the great opportunity of being able to work together in a job we loved while raising our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts - we've had the time of our lives! Don't worry the best ever store manager and the best locksmith around Lenny and Matt are still here.
