Good morning friends. This morning we will focus on Galatians 3:7-16. This small sliver of biblical text contains one of the smallest yet most weighty summery of the gospel. Can you locate it? I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

In an act of divine providence we will be considering Paul's words to the church at Rome regarding the believer's responsibilities to governing authorities. As we move towards this Lord's Day, consider a daily reading of Romans 13:1-7. Please also obtain resources that speak to the politics and governing systems the church at Rome was immersed in. I think you might be startled by the context. "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authorit...y except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed." See more

Last week we began to unpack the Paul's challenge found in Romans 12:9-21. In this text Paul calls the church to examine its LOVE. Paul writes, "LET YOUR LOVE BE GENUINE." What is love? How do I love? Who do I love? How can I inspect my love for authenticity? ... We will continue to grapple with these questions as we carefully examine the scriptures.

In the first eleven chapters of his letter to Rome, Paul narrows his focus on the God's great Salvation of His people. Here Paul remind the reader of this essential truth: - The righteous shall live through faith (Romans 1:17b) Just a few words strung together have never been so profound. ... In Romans chapter twelve Paul shifts his focus from the GOD’S GREAT SALVATION to the believers response: - Present your bodies a living sacrifice which is your reasonable service of worship. It is reasonable to surrender ourselves to our God as a response to His salvation! This morning we will continue our study of Romans chapter 12.
