COVID19 Update for the Remainder of Advent and Christmas Dear Beloved in Christ, Due to the rise in cases of COVID19, the Bishop has made the decision to return to the updated Phase I protocols for all parishes in the Diocese. Here is what this means for us:... WORSHIP: Effective immediately, all worship services are livestream only (with no one allowed to physically gather for Mass) for the remainder of Advent. However, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day can continue as planned based on Phase II protocols (our current plans are within these guidelines). It is important to note that the Bishop is only allowing Phase II for Christmas Eve and Day. We will return to Phase I (livestream only) after Christmas Day until further notice. The new protocols will allow for a team of 10 to accomplish the livestream. (The updated protocols do allow for a singer we checked on this.) Here is what we’re thinking for our livestream team on Sundays: Celebrant (Fr. Tommy) Organist (Charles) Cantor (staff singer) Lector Altar Server Tech person Sexton (Jeff) WEDDINGS, FUNERALS, and PASTORAL RITES/CARE: We are allowed to offer weddings and funerals under the Phase I guidelines, but each request has to be approved by the Bishop. All pastoral care must be done virtually / by phone. This means that the presently scheduled meetings with Fr. Tommy and parishioners will have to be rescheduled or done virtually. MEETINGS (Internal and External groups): All meetings must be done virtually, this includes outside organizations such as the 12 step programs. CABIN SHOP: We have been advised to continue to follow the municipal, county and state guidelines that regulate retail/food establishments. We will make changes in accordance with those guidelines. For now we may continue operating as we are now. ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING: All staff should work from home except when it is absolutely necessary. As of right now, Fionn and his crew may perform the work needed to keep our grounds and cemetery in order and running. Nicole may come in once per week to print bulletins. If anyone needs to come to the offices, please let us know when and why. The Diocese has stressed that people should stay home, but if it is absolutely necessary for someone to be on campus, every precaution must take place. Most importantly, brothers and sisters, we will get through this. God is with us and will continue to journey with us. There are important lessons of faith to learn in this pandemic. Let us look to the wisdom of God and give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. Grace and Peace, Fr. Tommy
