Yesterday evening Wolfpack SAR was dispatched for a search in Lehigh County to help assist in a search for a 71 y/o male with dementia, who went missing around 1700. We had the opportunity to work alongside South Whitehall Township PD, Lehigh County Special Ops, countless Fire Departments, and a plethora of of other emergency service agencies. It was truly an all hands on deck operation. While on scene we aided in bringing in several other Search & Rescue teams to help aid in the search operation. Around appx 2300, Mr. Zhou was located/safe, medically assessed, and is doing well. Thank you again to South Whitehall Township PD for having us out and to everyone involved!

Very well said and worth the read in these trying times. From South Central PA SAR: Public Service Announcement... We are seeing an influx in Autistic Missing Persons Cases. Right now our world is turned upside down... for those who have Autism this is a true culture shock to them as well. Routines are being changed, adjusting to "new normals" is very different for these individuals... all of this compounded with frequent weather changes is becoming the "perfect storm" for... our our Autistic Friends. This can also be true for those with Dementia or Special Needs. Please be mindful of this and keep an extra close eye on those in your care. Report any missing persons immediately and do not wait. Someone missing in 30 degree weather is an Emergency!! Involve the Police and where appropriate request that they involve Search and Rescue. Time is of the essence and the longer someone is missing the more difficult it is for us to find them and make a difference in bringing them home safe and sound. Remember to have a recent picture of your loved one, remember what they are wearing, have an emergency information card handy with their Demographic Info., Height and Weight, Eye and Hair Color, any distinguishing marks or tattoos, and a list of their medical conditions and any medications that they take. Consider some sort of tracking device or door alarms if they are prone to wandering. Having all of this in place will save precious time when Police and SAR Responders arrive. Advocate for your loved one and be prepared in the event that something does go wrong. Help us, Help you... We are here because we care!
