After the rain things have cooled down Jenny wants to play!
Well everyone meet my (our) new little ass!
Looks like gotta pumpkin patch this year! Just need some rain to really wake these plants up. Weeds have been a real enemy for me past few years. Not a lot of good spray for pumpkin's, but I did a few tricks and spent some time keeping up this year.
Well Sierra finally had her baby of 2020! Bull calf born sometime late yesterday, we will call him "Firecracker" Those of you that don't know who Sierra is! She was born 17 years ago in May. She was born siserian and mother was put down. I bottle raised her and she is still pretty tame. I got to touch this little guy who she left in the grass and walked away. A little blat and here she comes a running! Still a good mom lol
2020 Corn Maze is cut! Now Lot's of hand work to clean up paths. Corn got way too tall on me so lots of knocked down corn to pickup. Volunteers to clean up?
2020 Corn Maze!
American Agriculture @ work! Feeding America support the American farmers we are a dieing breed! We did you die! Think about that for awhile. BD WNBF
Good quality hay starts with a good seed bed, good soil ph and mother nature to cooperate! Rotation of crops is important also. I spent over 10 hours today getting this 25 acres ready to plant. When you're a one man show it's hard to run two tractors at once lol so with rain coming this won't get planted until it dries up enough to get back on field. If you buy hay make sure your supplier does all of this, puts back into the land and not just hay Field's year after year and rape the ground. Bales of dried up sticks and weeds will not benifit your animals. One bale of hay is not like another, pay attention to quality, quantity not just price! BD WNBF
Ok Corn Maze planted! No virus is stopping us this year it's own as usual! Theme: " Front line workers" BD
So what do you do on a cold, wet snowy May day cause you can't do anything in the field? You work in the warm shop getting the baler ready and wash the tractor silly!
One of our herds and some new babies!
Two of our mountain goats grazing in the lowland valley! Lol
