Jersey Shore, PA - Squad 2 was dispatched to a working structure fire Monday evening on Smith Street in the borough of Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore units quickly contained the fire to the first floor and extinguished it. Squad 2 personnel performed a secondary search of the upper floors and assisted in overhaul. Woodward fire police assisted borough units with traffic control. Sadly several pets passed away in the blaze.

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of life member and former fire chief of the Woodward Township Fire Company James Jim Arvin. Jim served as fire chief from 1976 to 1977. He also served in various positions in the company throughout his years Jim served several years as the EMA Coordinator for Woodward Township. He also was a dedicated volunteer with the American Red Cross and worked many blood drives. The officers and members of the fire company offer our condolences to his family and friends. Funeral service information will be shared when available.
