On behalf of the Ukrainian American community of the Phila. area and all those assembled for this marvelous event, we thank the Korean American community and it...s leadership (among others Ms. Sharon Hartz, Pres. of the Korean American Assoc of Greater Philadelphia and Master Bong Pil Yang, a great engine in that community) for arranging to have four of our ancestors who served in the Korean War and Conflict awarded with Korea's Ambassador for Peace Medal. Notably, this was the first event to be held at the Memorial, after its dedication. Our friend, Master Bong Pil Yang, shares the following "Today (11/21/2020 [-- also the Day of Human Freedom and Dignity in Ukraine]), we are honored to presenting the Peace Ambassador Medal to 4 Korean War Veterans. Mr. George Bohachevsky Mr. Semen Krywusha, Mr. Walter Kril, Mr. Walter Slonski"

This week, I recognized several local community members on the Senate floor for their efforts in providing hundreds of masks and gloves for frontline workers in... their community. Master Bong Pil Yang, General Secretary of the 21st Century America-Korea-China Leaders Society enlisted the help of his friends Osang Park, President of NYBEE, Inc.; Jay Sung, President of BOB International, Inc.; and Sung Woong Kim, President of the Korean American Vietnam Veterans Association of Pennsylvania to come together to help procure and provide this PPE to those who needed it most. Not only did this equipment help protect those who needed it, but it represented such a heartfelt and genuine act of kindness and community that it was hard not to notice the positivity throughout the communities that these companies served. It is acts like these, and steps taken by this group, that should be at the forefront of our thoughts when we look back at these trying times. People stepped up when they were needed most, and did the right thing asking for nothing in return. https://www.senatormensch.com//senator-mensch-recognizes-/
