The Ziegler Farm

Our farm got a little bigger yesterday! We received four new barn cats to help with the mice population. Mama Charlie, striped baby Athena, long haired Apollo, and little Hades! They are all so friendly and very playful! Their personalities are amazingly clear as soon as you meet them you fall in love

Sorry we have been quiet on the page lately, its been a busy summer here. Egg production is down and we aren't seeing the numbers like we did earlier in the season. We're hoping it picks up soon. Until then, keep your eye on the sign! Additionally we brought home a new goat today. Our first billy goat on the farm. Introducing, Wilbur! He is an Alpine, and will be out with the girls in October. Spring kids will be here before we know it, and I have a feeling they will be adorable!

This evening we put up another 300 feet of fencing for the goats and an automatic water bowl. Happy goats!

Our treasurer, Chuck Lederer, has a genetic kidney disease known as PKD (Polycystic kidney disease). The disease has reached stage 4 (severe) and Chuck is offic...ially on the UPMC Kidney Transplant list. He is in need of finding a living donor. New additions to the farm this week! 8 Crested ducks, 1 new Cayuga, 1 magpie, and 1 banty rooster!

We added a new piece of equipment to the farm this week. It's a 1957 Oliver OC 46 this will help get dirt work done around the farm and we will be able to hook our brush hog on the back to mow the not so dry places.

Ziegler Farm has shirts, hoodies and 2 sizes of decals! These turned out great and we are so excited to have them!

Update on Mama duck. She is still hard at work, keeping her future babies safe and warm. She isnt leaving the nest much anymore, and has been quaking at us every time she sees us, asking for food. We feed her by her nest so she feels safe. We candled a few eggs yesterday and there are signs of life! We will keep you updated and share pics when they hatch!

Hi everyone! I wanted to give a small update about whats happening at the farm! 1. Thank you to everyone who has been buying eggs! We have been selling out very quickly every day. 2. If you see her, please don't run over to check on her. She is in fact not dead or hurt, just hatchin...g babies! 4. We have NO plans on raising our prices. That has been asked by many of you. 5.
