2020 PTA Championships Seven Springs Resort

Good Evening everyone. I am posting an long overdue explanation on Matt health issues. Approx. a year ago Matt started with sever headaches that got to ...the point of throwing up and not being able to function. Family doctor said stress but after a few weeks of things not getting any better but getting worse my gut was telling me this is something more!! I told the doctor I want an MRI done just to ease my worries (of course I was hoping for it to be just stress, it would have been much easier to fix that). The day of the MRI Matt went in and after all pics were taken they would not let him leave. They said he needs to go straight into the ER because they saw Lesions on his brain. From then on until April there was a mountain of testing done. End of April he had a Biopsy done of the biggest spot. The tests came back as a Malignant tumor called Anaplastic Astrocytoma grade 3. What a shock!! Over the summer he did 6 weeks of .5 days radiation/week and 7 days of a chemo pill called Temodar. Thru all this he was not feeling good and not working at all. After this he was left to heal and try to recover from the radiation and chemo which can take months and months. At 8 weeks MRI showed that The brain surgeon could go in and take out some of the tumor so there isn't so much pressure in his brain. September he went into the OR for brain surgery. Very scary but a necessary thing. Surgery was successful, doctor was happy, saying she got 80 percent of the tumor. Wonderful news. Approx. 8 weeks after surgery he started with headaches again. My fear was the tumor was growing back faster than before. MRI showed Growth but doctors both say they are almost positive it is Radiation Narcosis.... Treated with a Bio-therapy called Avastin. First dose was done 3 weeks ago and I am finally seeing my Husband feel better. He had another infusion today and will have 2 more in the next six weeks. He is finally getting back out into the shop and getting work done slowly. I am so very sorry for the delay in work and I want to thank all who have been patient and understanding with us through this who ordeal. This Cancer is not going away but they say he has years to live. Now, only God knows how long we all have but the big question we are getting is.... "Is he going to continue to work?" Yes, Lord willing he plans on continuing on for years yet with the help of our son who is helping out part time right now but plans on doing more in the future. Like I said we are extremely sorry for all the delays and we know your animal mounts are important but that being said, we needed to concentrate on him getting better first and then get work done. We hope we can continue to work with you all in the future. See more
