It's a great day for #FlashbackFriday! We reached into the Zoom Drain time capsule for this photo of our old trucks. Many things have changed in the world and in our community since this photo was taken. One of those things being our trucks. They really have had a glow-up since then! But, there are a few things that haven't changed over the years. Our hard work and dedication to doing the job right the first time is still our top priority. Having the most professional and highly trained technicians in the industry is still something we take pride in. And most importantly, our unwavering passion for cleaning drains and sewers is as strong as ever. So, our trucks may look different, but our service is still the best in the industry.

It’s a boy! Everybody congratulate Kyle on his new root baby! At the beginning of this job, it seemed to be a simple clog in a storm drain, but after deeper inspection, it proved to be a much bigger problem than he thought when he found that the pipes had become the victim of severe root growth. What you see here is the end result of power-snaking and cutting tree roots inside of the drain for over 2 hours!... If you live in an area populated by a lot of trees, it can never hurt to have a Zoom Tech expert come out and stop any problems early on before you become a root parent, too.

After the fallout of the season, you may be finding that your sinks are smelling more than usual. Contrary to popular belief, home drain cleaner is possibly the worst solution to a stinky drain, since it actually speeds up corrosion and decay in your pipes. Instead, try this technique to get rid of lingering odor: If the smell doesn’t improve, find out if there’s a bigger issue by having a Zoom Drain technician visit and help diagnose! Pour in one cup of baking soda... Wash it down with in one cup of vinegar Letting these sit, boil a pot of water As soon as the water is at a rolling boil, dump it down the drain to help move along any left over debris Do you have any at-home solutions for getting rid of drain odor? Swipe to discover! 1 We are looking at a cast iron main drain that is disjointed. The pipe has sheared and shifted likely due to the ground settling, this can contribute to frequent back ups.... 2 You can also see roots starting to grow into the pipe. The pipe is compromised allowing ground water to enter, also sewage can now leak into the ground as well. 3 Sewage leaking into the ground can cause further settling and makes for optimal sewer fly breeding grounds. With Zoom Drain, this pipe can be replaced either by conventional or possibly trenchless means by way of pipe bursting as long as it's taken care of before the shifting gets too bad!
