The Newsletters are out there somewhere in the mail and will hopefully arrive soon. In the meantime, and in response to a resident request, here is the garbage and recycling schedule for 2021.

Dear Community Members, It has come to our attention that the Cetronia Ambulance Corps has mailed their annual appeal to several hundred individuals and busin...esses in the municipalities that we primarily serve. If you live in Lower Macungie Township, Alburtis Borough, Macungie Borough, Upper Milford Township, or Lower Milford Township; Cetronia Ambulance Corps is not your primary 911 EMS service provider. Cetronia Ambulance Corps does provide non-emergency transportation throughout the region. During discussion with their leadership team, they informed us that this mailing was directed to individuals who have donated or subscribed to their organization in the past and to all businesses in Lehigh County. Even our organization received a donation request. If you have any question as to who your local ambulance service is, please contact us or your local municipal leaders. Our organization has served the community for 65 years. We remain strong and dedicated to our residents. Like all emergency services, we work closely with our neighboring EMS providers. We have asked the leadership team at Cetronia Ambulance Corps to consider the impact of their fundraising efforts in the future.

The Alburtis Police Department has been made aware that an individual(s) using the name Jessica Shae on Facebook is attempting to scam residents into sending her gift card numbers from Walmart (and some other stores) to help her get from Florida to Pennsylvania. "She" is also asking for contact information for some individuals on Facebook, hoping to use that information to obtain more money or blackmail them. Please be aware of these types of scams. NEVER!!!! Send gift cards or gift card information to ANYBODY as a form of payment. They are untraceable and you can not stop payment on the gift cards. The government NEVER takes gift cards as payments. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your local police department and/or the Federal Trade Commission.

The Alburtis Police Department would like to thank all the residents that participated in Trick-or-Treat this year by handing out candy and other items. We would also like to thank all the Trick-or-Treaters as well, as we had no reported incidents and everyone stated safe. Thank you to Borough Council and the Mayor for your continued support of the police department during Trick-or-Treat.
