Bentworth Families, Bentworth school district will continue to provide breakfast and lunch for pick up to all students in the district. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on December 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18. Pick up on December 18 will also include food for December 21 and 22. Bentworth Community, The holiday season is upon us. On top of the typical stressors the holidays bring we now have COVID 19 and all of the worries that accompany it. As you know from my recent announcements things in the COVID world are changing quickly. Positive cases, contacts, close contacts and concerns that we may be on the verge of another stay at home order are all concerns in our lives. As a school district WE do not want to add to your stress. WE do not want D...ecember to turn into another March 13 where our community scrambles to find child care and worry about how to work with their children online. Therefore, the last day of school for Bentworth School District will be this Friday, December 11, 2020. This will begin our Christmas break. There will be no school until January 4, 2021. Please know this has not been an easy decision. However, given the current data, uncertainty at the state level and our need to prepare our community we believe this plan provides the best course of action. Additionally, providing district wide online instruction for five to seven days would create an enormous amount of stress for all parties. We will adjust our calendar to be in session on January 18 and April 6. These two dates were already identified as potential make-up days. We will also add June 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10 to the end of the school year. June 10, 2021 will now be the last day of school and commencement. For the remainder of this week students will be bringing home materials that they may need if the need to be remote arises in January. Please know it is our intent to be back in person on January 4, 2021. Please take these materials, plug in the chrome book and set them aside. On January 3, 2021, you will place everything back in the backpack and prepare to return to school on January 4. Please continue to monitor our website, social media and all call system for updates on our return. If circumstances require, we will be prepared to provide full remote instruction on January 4, 2021. However, our current plan is to be back to in person instruction in the New Year. General knowledge and skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance are required. Excellent compensation and benefits package. Good evening Bentworth. Well one thing we have learned during this pandemic is that things can come at us fast and hard. This evening is no different. At approximately 4:55 this evening I was notified of a second COVID 19 case in our high school. Based on us now having two positive cases in a 14 day rolling period we are required to close the building. At this time, until I can communicate with the Department of Health we will close the HIGH SCHOOL for in person learnin...g on Tuesday and Wednesday.
