Berkley Hills Cemetery

I'm actually looking forward to some mowing. I'm keeping a list of volunteers who can help me. Mostly need weedeater help. The cemetery is purchasing two new light weedeaters since the commercial ones are a little heavy. Please let me know if you can help maintain this 155 year old cemetery. Please and Thank you!

Hello All, It won't be long till its time to take care of the cemetery maintenance. I don't think I'll have as much time as past years to keep after all the work. My main need is weedeater help. We have 2 commercial weedeaters. If I knew I had help I would purchase ones that are lighter like a homeowner grade or even battery powered. Secondly, I'd like to get someone on the riding tractor who is willing to take on an area or the open areas. We need help w spreading gravel a...nd topsoil. There are dozens of stones that fell over and need reset or a new footer. Lots of work for too few volunteers. I have a sign up sheet on this page, however if you respond here I'll add you. This year the cemetery is 155 years old. It is 100% dependent on volunteers and donations. There is no income and never had any perpetual care set up. Please consider helping. Charles' gravestone was broken in five pieces for a long time. I used a two-part epoxy to make the repair which is now water tight. Hopefully it lasts for another 115 years. It will get set on a new footer and cleaned with D/2 in the spring. We have about four more stones in pieces that will get attention soon.

I'm having some topsoil delivered on Saturday. Time to fix some of the bad areas before snow gets here.
