Happy Fun Fact Friday! As sunlight travels from the sun to us, it passes through evaporated water, clouds, and other particles in the air that refract and reflect the light. Colors like pinks, oranges, and reds are less likely to be scattered by these elements, so they make it through the atmosphere and we can see them in the sky!
Looking forward to all the adventures 2021 takes us on! We hope you and your family have a happy and healthy New Year! . . .... #learnbyplay #childcare #preschool #kindergarten #newyear #newbeginnings #curiosity #creativity #inclusion #YourChildYourCommunityOurFamily See more
Happy Fun Fact Friday! In 1992, Syracuse, New York passed a decree that any more snow before Christmas Eve was against the law. Well Mother Nature didn't take that lightly, and it snowed just two days later!

Happy Fun Fact Friday! This Zinnia was found at Garrett Williamson and ain't she a beauty? Well when Zinnias were first discovered, people thought they weren't so great looking. The Spanish called them 'mal de ojos' which means 'sickness of the eyes'. But we think they're pretty awesome now!

Happy Fun Fact Friday! Check out this toad that Miss Carol spotted a few days ago! How did she know it was a toad? Well I'm glad you asked! While frogs spend most of their lives in or near water, toads can venture farther away into yards or gardens. Toads also have dry, more bumpy skin and frogs have slimy skin. So if you see one in your lawn, odds are it is a toad!

Come along with Farmer Amanda to see what's happening in the garden this October for our Virtual Harvest Celebration!
Today would have been our annual Harvest Celebration, but since we cannot be together in person we wanted to bring you all a virtual celebration! Below are some nature activities that you can do at home. Keep your eyes out for a hike and garden tour, too! Post your pictures below from your activities, we'd love to see what you create!
Happy Fun Fact Friday! We learned a couple weeks ago that Fall used to just be called 'Harvest'. Once people started moving to bigger cities, the term Harvest wasn't used as much. Instead people called it autumn, which was the common name in Great Britain, and then called the season 'fall of the leaf'. This eventually got shortened to just 'Fall', which is what is most commonly used today!

Happy Fun Fact Friday! The ancient Roman calendar was based on the lunar cycles (where as now our calendar is based in solar cycles), which means there was only 10 months in a year. In 451 BC, two months were added at the beginning, Ianuratius (January) and Febeuarius (February), making October change to the 10th month!

Let us know how your Camp ReRun goes! We are so excited to see you all in future summers (and falls) in person for this event
Happy Fun Fact Friday! Fall, or autumn, is the time that most of the harvesting is done for crops. Because of this, this time of year used to just be called 'Harvest'. I wonder what types of plants Farmer Amanda is harvesting in the garden these days
Happy Fun Fact Friday! If you're camping and want to know what the temperature is, listen to the crickets! Count the number of chirps you hear in 14 seconds and then add 40. That number is the temperature in Fahrenheit.
This week, we got to observe both Labor Day and Patriot Dayholidays that usually don’t occur so close together. These days are reminders of our resiliency as a... nation, but are also invitations to continue working for a future that is safe and accepting of everyone. Garrett Williamson is Committed to this work, the Appreciation for a diverse and loving environment, Respect for the dignity and worth of all living things, and the Education for each child.
