It's here! October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Looking forward to a great month ahead.
Today is the first day of our "Hitting the Road for Reading 2020" Virtual Walk! The Virtual Walk is running from September 1st- 8th. Don't forget to share a picture of yourself walking for dyslexia. A special shout out to the T-shirt Sponsors who helped make our Virtual Walk happen. Our T-shirt Sponsors are: -Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center... -Lehigh Valley Phantoms -Kaunitz & Company CPAs -Eastman Acupunture -Uncle Mike's Homemade Ice Cream -Kate Mathis Photography -Reading Escapades & Math Explorers Thanks so much to our awesome sponsors!
We are gearing up for our first ever Virtual Walk on September 1st through the 8th and we are pretty excited. The T-shirts are bought and the walking shoes stand ready. Adventure awaits! Even if you didn't get to buy a T-shirt, you can still donate to helping children find their own adventures through reading. Go to https://www.childrensdyslexiacenters.org/donate/. Where it says "Make My Gift Toward a Center" choose Allentown, PA. Then just fill out the form. Easy peasy.
Our "Hitting the Road for Reading 2020" T-shirts are here! That means the Children's Dyslexia Center of the Lehigh Valley's Virtual Walk 2020 is just around the corner. On September 1st through the 8th wear your T-shirt and walk around your favorite park or neighborhood. Snap a picture of yourself in your shirt and share it with us on your Facebook page. We would love to see what adventures you go on with your brand new shirt!
There is still time to buy a limited-edition "Hitting the Road for Reading 2020". T-shirts are $15 a piece and can be bought at: https://www.customink.com//childrens-dyslexia-center-augus. Buy a shirt and change a child's life!

In our country, all students should be receiving education that is appropriate to meet their education needs. These rights are detailed under FAPE and IDEA. Unfortunately, that right is not always met. Take a moment to watch "Our Dyslexic Children", a movie detailing a group of parents who demanded and won that right for their children and community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ7xa6meD2Q&feature=youtu.be
