As office visits have picked up recently, I’ve been hearing from many patients that their children, or themselves, are going to be starting up some shortened form of a sports season. This is great! Be active and have fun! But, it’s also been probably quite a while that this level of activity has been done, so please be very aware to hydrate often, maybe even more than you think you should. Not just water, but also something with electrolytes like Sodium. Also, st...retch, stretch, and stretch some more. I can’t emphasize that more. Lastly, don’t forget to give your body proper rest. As Eastern Allegheny County’s only Certified Sports Chiropractor, I see way too many preventable injuries and conditions brought on by those that simply don’t properly take care of their body. So, simply, take care! https://www.drbrentchiro.com/sports-chiropractic/

Hi All! Just wanted to drop you all a quick note to let you know that we will be fully back open next week, starting June 1, with normal office hours! We hope you’ve been healthy during this situation, but we’re excited to get back to some normalcy, and hopefully that means by seeing you in the office! Patient health is always our priority, so we will be following CDC guidelines for appointments. That said, all you have to do is give us a call at 412-823-5710 or go to www.d...rbrentchiro.com and submit an appointment request. So whether it’s been one week, 2 months, or 6 months since you’ve been here, we will hopefully see you soon!

Wanted to share a story and advice. One thing that the limited schedule during all of this has cemented home even further for me, is that it’s further proven the value of regular maintenance chiropractic care. With the rules in place by the Governor, we’ve had to postpone many visits for patients on 2 week, 3 week, or monthly tune up schedules. These appointments work great for keeping patients relatively pain free and functioning properly.... We are now frequently seeing patients, who were quite happy on these schedules and doing well, but now with a lapse in regular care, they’re exhibiting symptoms again. A normal 2 week patient, who hasn't been in since this started around mid March, and he came in saying about how his neck and headaches have come back and are bad again, when prior he wasn't having them at all while on the 2 week schedule. Same with a monthly patient and his low back pain. Etc etc. Point being, chiropractic maintenance works! Get adjusted regularly! www.drbrentchiro.com

Just a simple request. I know we’ve all got our different situations and struggles right now, but I know soooo many colleagues of mine and other various small business owners who are just trying to stay open, keep employees working, and get through this. So as stimulus funds start to roll in, if and when at all possible, consider spending some money at small or family owned businesses. Thanks as always and appreciate you all!

I’ve been seeing a big increase in acute pain in patients as a result of working from home during this. And most all of the stories involve them sitting on hard dining room/kitchen chairs or on the couch/bed with a laptop. Quite simply, DON’T DO THAT! ... Do not sit on a couch or a bed with your laptop for long periods of time, or any period of time for that matter. Sit at a dining room/kitchen table or a desk. But, if you’re at one of those tables sitting, put a couch or bed pillow on the chair, don’t just sit on a hard wooden seat. It’s also important to remember to take your usual breaks to get up out of your seated position, stretch, and move around! Take care! www.drbrentchiro.com

Just a quick update from us on our schedule! For the month of April, the office will be CLOSED on Fridays, as we work to limit contact and exposure based on the Governor's new orders, while still maintaining office hours to take care of our patients that need us!... We will still see symptomatic, acute and injury care patients as we are in the category of "Other Health Practitioner". We will see patients who are on existing acute plan of care schedules. We will be staggering patient appointments to limit the number of people in the office at any given time. Please note that all of this is subject to change based on the frequent changing situation at hand. Thanks for your understanding and we will all get through this!
