Happy Thanksgiving!

Joseph W. Arcadipane, DMD 02.11.2020

We would like to congratulate, former team member and good friend Andrea, on her nuptials to Joe today. May your marriage be filled with all the right ingredients: a heap of love, a dash of humor, a touch of romance, and a spoonful of understanding. May your joy last forever. Congratulations!

How to Keep Your Teeth Healthy During the COVID-19 Outbreak With our office closed for routine procedures during the COVID-19 outbreak, it’s more important than ever to brush properly and floss regularly. We are urging people to brush twice a day and floss once a day to take care of their teeth.... Keeping your toothbrush clean is also important for good dental health. You can do any of the following: Swirl the bristles in antibacterial mouthwash for 30 seconds. 2 teaspoons of baking soda in a cup of water and soak the toothbrush in the solution. Dilute 1 teaspoon of 3 percent strength hydrogen peroxide in 1 cup of water and swish the toothbrush bristles in the solution before brushing. Soak the bristles in vinegar overnight. We are urging people to brush twice a day and floss once a day to take care of their teeth. Good dental hygiene might not be in the front of your mind in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. That could change quickly if you develop a painful cavity and can’t get in to see us. Our advice is to maintain a daily routine of brushing teeth and flossing to prevent tooth decay. Rinsing with a non-alcohol-based mouthwash twice a day also can help reduce plaque buildup leading to inflammation of the gums (gingivitis). Diet matters too! What you eat is also important! Avoiding excessive snacking a habit that’s all too easy to adopt when dealing with the stress and boredom inherent in self-quarantining. Starchy foods and drinks lead to acid in our mouths, which dissolves tooth surfaces. The more often our teeth are bathed in these acids, the weaker and softer they become. Avoid non-fiber carbohydrates. These can act just like straight sugar and contribute to plaque buildup. Adopt a Paleo-type diet and avoiding processed foods, if possible, to protect oral health. Drink lots of water - Good hydration also is important for oral health. We also recommend avoiding hard foods that can crack a tooth or damage fillings as well as popcorn, peanut brittle, and sticky candy. Take care of your health and your dental health!! Stay safe, we will see you soon!

To Our Valued Patients, Thank you for your continued patience during this very uncertain and trying time. Mandated as a non-essential business, our dental office is still under orders to remain closed for elective procedures and routine appointments. Unfortunately, at this time, we must remain closed for emergency visits as well. Our office is currently not equipped with the proper COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment, which will be necessary to perform any treatment.... Our supply companies continue to be out of stock of this equipment with no date of re-stocking. In the coming weeks, with the guidelines from the CDC and the American Dental Association, our office will be implementing a plan of action should the state allow dental offices to reopen. We will keep you posted with our course of action as we learn more. Until then, we miss all of you and can’t wait to see your Smiles again!! Dr. Joe & Staff
