Wait until September 30th. That's when the statute for the CARES Act loans runs out. United has already sent out 36,000 warning letters. Next up: Delta. This is going to be one of the biggest massacres since Eastern and Pan Am bit the dust. American Airlines became the latest airline to warn staff about potential furloughs.

If "the new" Eastern had the money and the desire to re-establish real scheduled operations, now would be the time to start negotiations with American to acquire gates and slots all the way from Boston to Miami. 'Cause American ain't gonna make it. Market opportunity!

I remember eating there as a little kid. Later on, when I went to work for Eastern Airlines in the 80's, that space became the back office area for the ticket counter. Boy, if the walls could talk...

Jim Cullum, Jr. passed away last Sunday. He is pictured on the right, next to Louis Armstrong. Looks like they flew a particular airline back then :) Jim was the producer of the NPR show "Riverwalk Jazz".
