Did you know that Masks for the Lehigh Valley has already sewn and distributed more than 20,000 masks throughout the Valley? We're so thankful to this grassroots effort and volunteer Ruth Dennison for supplying the Y with more than 100 masks for our essential programs!

Starting Monday, March 23rd, the Y will be running the "Here for You" Program at our Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton/Phillipsburg and Nazareth Branches. The Greater Valley YMCA leadership is writing to address the Coronavirus concern which has received widespread media attention in recent days. First and forem...ost, we are reminding all staff and members to follow CDC recommendations to prevent any respiratory virus which are to: Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when sick. Cough or sneeze into an elbow or use a tissue and place immediately in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. In addition to our usual vigilant efforts to maintain a clean and healthy facility, the Y is taking extra precautionary measures as follows: Frequent disinfection of desks, doorknobs, phones and all public areas Increasing the availability of hand sanitizer in all high use areas Posting flyers throughout public areas and restrooms about how to stop the spread of germs Using whole room disinfection practices through facility each day Concerns about health situations such as this can cause anxiety for members and staff. As a community organization, we want to protect everyone and ensure their safety. We will continue to update you with our social media posts when pertinent information becomes available.
