PHONE SCAM ALERT The Sheriff’s Office would like to once again warn citizens about phone scams that are hitting the area. Throughout the last few days, the... Sheriff's Office has received a number of inquiries regarding calls supposedly originating from our office. The caller is stating to victims that they have an outstanding issue, whether it is jury duty or an unpaid summons, which has spurred the issuance of a warrant. In most cases, victims are asked to supply funding to the caller via money orders and gift cards. If you receive a call such as this, do not provide any funding or personal information to the caller. If the Sheriff’s Office contacts you regarding a citation, we will not ask for these types of funding, such as the caller in these scenarios. The Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the whereabouts of the callers from the week’s incidents. If you have information regarding a caller or you have already been scammed, please contact the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office at 412-350-4714.
Due to the demand and success of our first event in Monroeville on July 25th, we are scheduling two more satellite drive-thru events: - North Fayette on August ...15th | 8 AM - 3 PM - Forward Township on August 29th | 8 AM - 3 PM Like Downtown, this event will be appointment-only to those who sign up via the ACSO License to Carry Appointment webpage. Scheduling for these dates will begin at 8:00AM on Monday, August 10th. Applicants with an appointment will show up at a tent setting in the parking lot of the venue, where they will be greeted by Sheriff’s Office personnel. They will be asked to exit their vehicle for a quick COVID screening (temporal thermometer and questions), as well as process their paperwork. It is imperative that applications are completed prior to arrival. There will not be a designated area to fill out paperwork, nor will time allow. Applicants will then return to their vehicle and park in the lot. Upon approval, the license will be printed and delivered to their parked vehicle. We will NOT be taking any walk-ins and those who arrive looking to apply without an appointment will be turned away. With continued success, we are hoping to have more events like this. If we do plan on scheduling more, they can be found on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page with a link. Please do not message, email, or call the office requesting information about future events or scheduling, as all updates will be published on social media. https://ltcappointments.sheriffalleghenycounty.com
