Just added a new article to the website about markers in training. Check out the "Shop" tab to gain access. Always consider what you are communicating to your dog. It's amazing the things we inadvertently teach them! www.FayetteAreaDogTraining.com

Huge thanks to FallenTimberLeather for this fix. I’ve had this leather leash for years and Lew just added many more years to its life. Great job! www.FallenTimberLeather.com

I’m also a big fan of restraining my dog while driving. Safer for both human and dog!
How does your dog know when they are on the clock? As humans, we thrive on routine. Our home and work lives strongly reflect this in the development of some ...form of morning or daily ritual. No matter how elaborate or simple, this routine is a way to start our systems and allow us to mentally and physically prepare for the day ahead of us. Get up. Shower. Start coffee. Eat breakfast. Begin the work day. Like us, our dogs also crave some semblance of rhythm and routine (and I say routine and not schedule for a reason - but more on that later). Our dogs thrive not only when balance is struck between work life and home life, but also when we are able to be clear about when we expect explosive over-the-top energy, and when that energy, albeit active, must be tempered and controlled. How do you cue your dog that an active training session is starting? How do you let your dog know when it is time to punch in to work?
During this time online and other home-based learning is potentially more valuable than ever. If anyone is in need of some resources for such learning please let me know. I have been amazed by the amount of resources that are out there for the dog community. We just added more content for our paid subscribers as well. Take care!
