Gainey for Mayor 09.06.2021

The statistics don’t lie, Pittsburgh is one of the worst places in the United States for Black Women to live. We need a mayor who is committed to improving the lives of all people, especially those who have been left behind. Ed Gainey is the only mayoral candidate to be endorsed by elected Black women. The work these women have done to support and uplift their communities has paved the way for progress in Pittsburgh. I'm thankful to have their support as we carry on this fi...ght, together. Today Ed was in the run to talk about building a Pittsburgh for ALL! Thank you to everyone who came out this afternoon. For too long residents have faced massive flooding including sewage overflowing and filling peoples basements and houses. Ed saw the playgrounds roped off and closed due to the danger they pose - a city project the current administration won’t give a repair date for. We walked under the railroads where rusty metal spikes were falling making it dangerous. A...nd Ed walked the trails talking with residents about how harmful the current proposal of a private roadway for university shuttles would be. It’s past time we elect a Mayor who will prioritize the people’s ingests over big money. We must protect our parks, stop the Mon Oakland Connector, and empower our communities rather than build over them. Election Day is in 14 days! CommUnity. This is our moment to build a better Pittsburgh for all of us! After a year like no other, we have the chance to unite Pittsburgh and overcome our challenges. We must address the housing crisis, the epidemic of over policing, and the racial and economic inequality in our city head on. If the seeds of change have yet to be planted in eight years, it won't happen in the next four. Help us plant the seeds of change and grow our CommUnity. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/gaineysocial
