Whoo-hoo, SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS! Our club has a milestone anniversary this month! Congratulations & thank you to our members in the Kiwanis Club of Milton/Warrior Run for your tireless efforts for your club, your community and the children in which you serve! Make sure you are at our next meeting on January 27th to help us celebrate this great achievement. Along with having this celebration, we will be having our annual Member Auction, which is always a fun event. Be watching for our next email giving you all the details.
When the Kiwanis International float makes its way down Colorado Boulevard in the 2022 Rose Parade on Saturday, look for the more than 5,000 roses and 4,500 dai...sies affixed to the Dream to Achieve float. Adding to the color and texture are beans, whole and ground split peas, onion seed, ground white rice, yellow strawflower, redwood bark, eucalyptus leaves, limes and seaweed. The Kiwanis float is No. 68 in the parade lineup. #KidsNeedKiwanis See more
Here's Watsontown Police Chief, Rodney Witherite, accepting a check for the Chief Reed Fund, from Kiwanis member, Ted McPherrin . Not only does the Chief Reed Fund help with Christmas gifts for kids, it helps families in need of items like clothing, food, or help paying heating bills.
Happy holidays from Kiwanis! Thank you for all you do. #KidsNeedKiwanis
Hats off to Karen Fry, Ruby Baker, Jan Salwocki, and Ted McPherrin for helping at this year's Milton Winterfest. Thank you for sharing your service from our Kiwanis club.
All this month our members will be greeting you at The Milton Model Train Museum. Here's Shirley and Jane taking care of business. A big thank you to Mary Lou Neilson Keifer for coordinating this project. Working the train station this month will be Shirley and Ted McPherrin, Jane Kuykendall-Mertz, Peggy and Don Emory, Mary Lou, Michelle Shearer, Dale and Tam Chomas, and Debbie Day Fern.
Each December the Milton community service clubs, along with the Milton Police, Salvation Army, and the school district, purchase gifts for children in need. Thank you to Karen Fry for coordinating the project, and Beth Kline, Lisa Sholly McManus, Carl-Pamela Bower, Barb Diehl, Katie Snoddy, and Debbie Day Fern for doing the shopping. Below is the picture of the gifts that were bought this year.
This year Watsontown has a Festival of Wreaths along Main Street. There are 36 wreaths out! Our Kiwanis wreath was created by Reba and Debbie. Great job, ladies.

A very big and warm welcome to our newest members: Don Emory, Reba Rohrer, Lisa Hollenbach, and Michelle Shearer.
Twenty-two members gathered last week to pack roses for our annual rose sale. We were a well-oiled machine. Thanks go out to Shirley for getting things organized and set up. A big thank you to all the people that bought roses.

Get active. Be involved! Let's do this!
This Saturday, April 24th, we will be spreading mulch at Veterans Park in Milton. Everyone is welcome to help. Let's honor our Vets by making the area beside The Moose beautiful. We will be starting at 8:30 AM. Please bring a rake if you can help. The photo below was taken in 2018.
Today at Baby Steps Diaper Pantry, our club donated socks to the families. Last month (March) Sheetz gas cards were given to them. Many of the families were beyond thrilled at these donations. One mother almost cried.
When the school nurse at Turbotville Elementary School (Warrior Run District) told us she could use sweatpants, we got busy and purchased several pairs. Children borrow sweatpants throughout the year for a variety of reasons and hopefully this purchase will help out.
We are back at helping the children in our area. More than 450 pairs of socks were donated by our Kiwanis members! Families with children at PreK Counts, Warrior Run Middle School, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Milton Elementary, and Baby Steps Diaper Pantry will benefit from this service project.
Helping our communities!

Still Active During the Pandemic The motto for Kiwanis is "Serving the Children of the World." Young children are our number one priority. Our members decided to send cards to three detention centers located in Texas and PA. Through the Hope for the Holidays campaign, cards are distributed at migrant detention centers across the country and at shelters along the border, reminding the children that they are not forgotten during the holiday season. Our Kiwanis Club of Milton/Warrior Run’s goal was to send 50 cards. However, 228 cards were sent!
Have you seen our decorated Christmas tree in Watsontown? It's at the corner of Main and Brimmer Avenue. Here's the Kiwanis 'Krew' with the finished product. Thanks go out to Mary Lou, Carl, Pam, Debbie, Ted, Beth, and Jane.
A role model can be anybody: a parent, a sibling, a friend. But some of our most influential and life-changing role models are teachers. Kiwanis' motto is "Serving the Children of the World." It is only fitting that we honor our members that teach.
Roses 2020 Thanks to all that helped get the roses prepped to deliver. And a special thanks to those people that purchased the roses.
