We're proud to announce we've joined the 30x30 Initiative by signing the #30x30Pledge! We’re joining the movement to #advancewomeninpolicing and support the success of women officers in all ranks. As of 2021, women make up only 12% of sworn officers and 3% of police leadership in the U.S. We are proud to be a member of the 30x30 Initiative to increase the number of women recruits to 30% by 2030 and support women officers throughout their careers. Let’s make it happen! Work/Li...fe Lehigh Lehigh University Center for Gender Equity Policing Project - NYU School of Law www.30x30initiative.org See more

We are so proud of this accomplishment and that the Bethlehem Crossing Guards will get the proper clothing they need to be out in the elements every day to keep the children of Bethlehem safe as they walk to and from school.

Providing alcohol to someone under 21 is against the law and violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Be smart and stay safe, Lehigh. Crime Prevention Officer Lora Martin is pictured with a message on being smart and staying safe and sober. Officers from Lehigh University and Bethlehem Police Departments will be working this weekend to watch for excessive drinking and underage drinking made possible by a grant paid for by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. The opinions and statements expressed in this advertisement do not necessarily reflect the views of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

It was a relatively quiet night on campus during #winterstormgail. Our third #hybrid patrol vehicle is getting some use in front of Williams Hall while one of our older units is seen on Goodman Campus.

We are hoping everyone is staying safe wherever you are tonight. Our campus is looking rather majestic under a blanket of snow this evening. . Photo credit: Sergeant Jim Christman while out on patrol during the storm.

On Monday November 23rd, Officer Lora Martin was awarded the John W. and Barbara R. Woltjen Award. As the 2020 recipient Officer Martin was nominated by Mel Kitchen of the Pride Center. The nomination read as follows: 2020 John W. and Barbara R. Woltjen Award Nomination ... For LUPD Officer Lora Martin: It gives me great pleasure to nominate LUPD Officer Lora Martin for the Woltjen Award. Lora is the epitome of a community officer. She is engaged with not only the students of Lehigh, but also takes the time to participate in the programs the university has to offer. I’m thrilled when she’s able to attend any Pride Center program. By doing so, Lora brings a level of authenticity and humanity to her position as an officer. Students and staff members cannot help but feel that she’s willing to engage in discussion, learning and development as a person. Yes we see the uniform, and yes we clearly see the individual human being who is so very willing to engage, make mistakes, grow and learn. It is for these reasons that I nominate Officer Lora Martin for this award. Thank you. Mary Ellen (Mel) Kitchen

LUPD is trying to keep the traditions of the #lehighlaf rivalry going, even during the pandemic. Here's Lt. David Kokinda, Ofc. Lora Martin, and Det. David Fleishman right after they completed their 5k run for the Turkey Trot last week. #lelafrivalryrun #lehigh #lehighuniversity #beatlafayette #golehigh #lelaf #rivalry155point5
