For anyone who heard the 45th president or the objector Sen. from Missouri or any other elected Republican spew lies and misinformation about Pennsylvania’s election know that you are being conned. You are being lied to and being conned. And you deserve much better. Pennsylvania election law provides a legal remedy for every single falsehood they are spewing. In Pennsylvania, the 45th president or any of these elected Republican officials could have filed for a Recount o...r Recanvass of the vote. They didn’t. Well the election was a fraud or illegal or just unfair - well PA provides for a way to handle that as well, and it’s called filing an Election Contest with the Courts. They didn’t do that either. Shocking, right? Sure they filed dozens upon dozens of meritless lawsuits (and meritless is different than just losing it means lacks merit, it is such a ridiculous claim that it shouldn’t even be in a court of law). The reason they didn’t file for a Recount or Recanvass or file an Election Contest with the Court isn’t because these are some secret remedies to resolve the very problems they falsely claim exist, it is because they know the lies they are spewing are not true. They are willfully and knowingly lying to you in an attempt to achieve political advantage at the expense of our democratic institutions and form of government. It’s just shameful. (Note of clarity, not all elected Republicans are doing this. Many have publicly disavowed such dangerous demagoguery, but the elected officials who are doing it are all members of the Republican Party.)
Wishing all a Happy New Year. Here we come 2021.
Infrastructure, infrastructure, infrastructure it’s one of the most basic functions of government. When I ran for the state legislature I emphasized the importance of getting in front of our infrastructure funding issues. It’s part of the reason why I had the support of so many labor unions and elected officials that were focused on problem solving. It’s frustrating to see some of our elected leaders are acting like they didn’t see this coming - don’t buy it. They know how PennDOT is funded, they know this issue is systemic, and they’re allowed to communicate with PennDOT leadership to get in front of these kind of issues (some may even say that’s the job). We need elected leaders who are willing to do the work and focus on the basics of government.
Congratulations to my friend Representative Austin Davis for being selected to Chair the Allegheny County Democratic Delegation. Allegheny County is in good hands with Rep. Austin Davis. https://triblive.com//rep-davis-to-chair-allegheny-count/
Happy Veterans Day to all our vets both past and present. I like to share my grandfather’s Navy photo on Veterans Day. We all still benefit today from the sacrifices made by his generation.

I’m headed back to the warehouse on the North Side to observe the count as Allegheny County begins to count provisional ballots. As has been the case throughout the entire vote counting process, there will be representatives from both the Republican and Democratic Parties and representatives from individual campaigns to oversee the count. *There are many more provisional ballots this year because voters who signed up to vote by mail but did not return a mail in ballot, for whatever reason, were able to vote by provisional ballot at the polls.
