Even though COVID had STEAM Week looking a little differently, each grade experienced a rich week of interactive activities tailored to their interests. From Water Exploration in preschool, to Seeds & Plants in kindergarten, to the Sun as a Star in 1st/2nd Grade, to Pollinators in 3rd Grade, Building Bridges in 4th Grade, Wind Energy in 5th Grade, and Mission to Mars in Middle School...there was plenty of hands-on, real world projects & obstacles to tackle! You can help MPFS students by redirecting PA state taxes to financial aid. Our partner The Friends Collaborative received approval for additional tax credits for the 2020 and 2021 tax years. With the help of our community, that can mean more financial aid dollars for MPFS and our 19 partner Friends schools. Through Pennsylvania's tax credit programs, donors who pay $3,000 or more in PA state taxes can direct a portion of their tax dollars to financial aid for Friends schools... through the Collaborative. They will receive 90% of the contribution back as a dollar-for-dollar reduction of their state taxes. This makes large gifts very inexpensive to make. Check out this article from Zinn Education Project that our middle school students read in honor of #IndigenousPeoplesDay with T. Meredith in humanities. When asked about student reactions to the article, T.
