Dee Wartenberg, Licensed MT, BS, NCTM, NRT Dee has over ten years of experience. Referrals from clients, doctors, and other professionals continue to sustain this successful, friendly, and very effective adjunct to medical treatment. One of her very first clients set the stage for this career of helping people back to health. A man, who literally was hit by a bus and was told that he could never work again, had found his way to Dee. Through the use of Dr. Travell’s trigger ...point therapy, deep tissue release, and some healing time, this client was climbing ladders and back to nearly a full recovery. Both Dee and the client were amazed at the speed and completeness of this physical come-back that the medical community was incapable of facilitating. Surely, no medication would have substituted! This incredible scenario of rehabilitation beyond what the medical community provided has recurred time and time again. Dee attributes this to taking the time to do a complete assessment and addressing all of the systems in the body that were affected. Credentials Pa. Stress and psychosomatic contributions to illness are given rather short attention in the traditional medical model. Many physicians don't want to admit that 8...5% or more of all illness is psychosomatic, as I was taught in medical school; they tend to consider such patients "crocks." In the last few years, however, psychoneuroimmunology is increasingly demonstrating, from a very scientific point of view, that mood is perhaps the most critical factor in maintaining the integrity of the body, especially of the immune system. Depression essentially clobbers the ability of the immune system to be healthy. On the other hand, positive thinking and a cheerful outlook can go a long way toward helping us become, and remain, healthy. THINK RIGHT to BE RIGHT. (Norm Shealy) See more
