*Not our race but it was an actual race taken place this summer. Usually part of the Twilight Quad, this one was the only race held of the series with a limit on participants. Social distancing was practiced and everything went smoothly thanks to the organizers, volunteers and runners. Race results on runhigh.com the official timing company of the Ice Cream Race.

In place of Pedal the Lakes this year, MCTA has organized a giving campaign with a goal of $10,000. The association is asking for a gift of $25.00, however, any amount is greatly appreciated in advancing our efforts. Donations can be made securely online at www.mctrails.org or mailed to Mercer County Trails Association, Inc. PO Box 1553, Hermitage PA 16148. The proceeds will help develop and maintain recreational trails in Mercer County. The association is currently worki...ng on these projects: 1. The extension of the Greenville-Jamestown Trail to Jamestown, PA, and further west to the Ohio border. 2. The connection of the Greenville-Jamestown Trail to the Greenville Sports Complex. 3. The planning and development of a trail in West Middlesex, PA. 4. The connection of the bicycle lane in Sharon, PA to the Trout Island Trail in Sharpsville, PA. 5. The planning and development of a bicycle playground in Sharon, PA. 6. The maintenance of the Trout Island Trail and the Greenville-Jamestown Trail. The association gains funds through other race events: the Twilight Quad running series and the Prep for Pittsburgh 10K. These events were affected by the pandemic as well: consequently, the association’s income, to cover operating expenses, was diminished. Retaining an income stream for our non-profit organization is vital in order to continue building and maintaining the recreation trails for the community. Thank you for considering our request. The Pedal the Lakes Bicycle Tour slated for Saturday, September 5th has been canceled. It was a difficult decision to make, however, the board of MCTA feels that as an organization promoting health and wellness it is outside of our mission to host an event during these times that could put participants, volunteers, and our communities and businesses at risk. We look forward to bringing you Pedal the Lakes on Saturday, September 4, 2021, with new routes and other improvements. Thank you for supporting Mercer County Trails Association, Inc.

Virtual half-marathon and 5k taking place from now until 11:59 pm on Sunday, March 29th. If you have not registered and were planning on registering day of, but still want to do your race, you can so so virtually....anywhere! Redesigned finishers ovals for this years Series and Half Marathon to be completed by midnight Sunday the 29th!

As we all know, the road race industry has been put on hold because of the Corovirus pandemic. This weekend's HM & 5K is the last race of the Prep4Pitt series, hosted by Mercer County Trails Assn. We have turned this event into a virtual run. If you have already registered for any or all of the events of the series, we are giving you the opportunity to submit a 5K or HM time between now and Sunday night at midnight. Even if you didn't officially register for this weekend's... race, we are allowing you to submit a time. Those that have already entered received an email with the link to submit your time. Or you can do so here. On Monday, we will compile a set of results for the HM and 5K along with the results of the series on the Runner's High website. Happy running, and thanks for supporting the Mercer County Trails Assn.

This Saturday's Half-Marathon will now be a Virtual race. (We will not be at Goddard S/P) Series participants are encouraged to get in your 13.1 miles anywhere convenient to you. Preferably this Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Show proof that you ran your 13.1 miles and you will still get the series finishers oval. Please post on our Facebook page as well! All the results will be recorded and posted on the race results website. We are in the process of contacting each person individually. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
