In 2017 our team in partnership with Insurance carrier Zenith, donated an AED machine to Blue Mountain Resort. Years later a group of heroes were able to use it to revive a man who was in critical condition. 5 Ways to Avoid Winter Claims This Fall.... Spring may be the season typically associated with cleaning, but it is just as important to do cleanup around the home in fall. Putting things in order and tending to minor maintenance now can help homeowners avoid insurance claims and other problems when winter weather arrives. 1.Heating System Tune up - Have checked for optimal performance. 2.Roof and Gutters - Clean out debris and replace shingles that may be tattered.... 3.Caulking and Paint - Check for leaks (recaulk) chipped paint (scrape, prime & repaint) 4.Downspout Extensions - Make sure your downspouts are extended to move water 4-5 Feet away from the foundation. 5. Trim Landscaping - Trim your bushes and shrubs so they are 1 foot away from the surface of the home. This allows for proper air flow and lets the area dry out. Also clean any leaves and debris from around the foundation.

The Lehigh Valley area was hit with severe storms on August 4th causing property damage across the region. The team at Miers is processing a significant number of claims, most of which are water damage claims as result of the storm, including damage as a result of flooding of vehicles, and fallen trees and limbs. If your experienced water damage in your business or home and loss, we recommend the following:... 1. Mitigate the loss whether insurable or not, you need to mitigate the water infiltration as soon as possible. Professional restoration companies are effective at removing the water, drying, and ventilating the damaged area. 2. Document the loss if it is safe to do so, begin documenting your loss by taking photos, gathering receipts and itemized lists of damaged belongings. Keep small samples of damaged carpets or fabrics and other flooring. 3. Report the loss call your insurance agent or broker as soon as possible after the loss.
