For anyone needing a ride to the polls today...

Montgomery Borough is currently accepting letters of interest from persons interested in filling TWO council vacancies created by the relocation of councilmen outside of the Borough. Each appointment will be valid through December 31, 2021. Interested candidates must be at least 18 years of age, registered to vote, able to provide proof of residency within the borough for a minimum of 1 year, and criminal record must be free of felony convictions. The Borough Park and Recreation Committee will meet on Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverside Roadhouse. The public is welcome to attend. The committee respectfully requests that a representative from AYSO and Summer Alive attend this meeting, if possible, as the storage area in the George Amos Smith pavilion will be discussed.

A word about helmets.... Pennsylvania law requires that bicyclists under the age of 12 wear a helmet when operating in any public space. Montgomery Borough requires use of a helmet by ANY PERSON, regardless of age, who uses the Borough's skateboard park with a skateboard, bicycle, or scooter. Borough police are monitoring use of helmets, and repeat offenders will be barred from the skateboard park. ... Accidents happen quickly, and without warning. Life can change dramatically in the blink of an eye. You get one brain; protect it. Anyone wishing to donate bike or skateboard helmets for youth in need can do so by delivering them to the Borough Office or contacting the Montgomery Borough Police Department.

The October Borough Council Business Meeting will be tonight, Tuesday, October 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Borough Hall.
