Just in- The Limekiln Pike bridge is now open, and we are now reunited with Cheltenham! The bad news- they couldn't get some of the work planned for this closure completed, so they are targeting the weekend of June 25 for the next closure (but its only a weekend, not three weeks!)

Please note: Township offices will be closed on Friday, June 18, 2021 in observance of Emancipation Day (Juneteenth). There will be no trash, recyclables, or ya...rd debris collections on this day. For both Friday, June 18, and Monday, June 21, the trash and recyclables collections will occur on Monday, June 21. There will be no yard debris collection. Yard debris collection will resume on Tuesday, June 22. See more

Abington Township will be conducting it's bi-annual Traffic Safe-T Program this month. The components of the program are driver education and increased traffic ...enforcement. To participate, simply request a sign from your Commissioner or by contacting the Abington Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit at 267-536-1078. While the program ends June 30th, it will be conducted again in the month of September. Anyone with a sign on their lawn is asked to remove the sign on July 1st until September 1st, 2021 when the program will be conducted again. See more

Reminder! Our Electronics Collection "Anything with a Plug" event is tomorrow, Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Public Works Yard, 2201 Florey... Lane, Abington, PA 19001. This service is available to residents of Abington Township ONLY. There is a cost for TV's and monitors. Please note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Abington Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) will be unable to collect food items on site during the event. Residents are asked to bring food donations directly to the Inter-Faith Food Cupboard located at 1250 Easton Road, Roslyn PA 19001. Shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Ms. Valerie Ward, chair of the Willow Grove NAACP. Ms. Ward was a quintessential part of building an Abington Police Department that we can all be proud of, one sensitive to the racial issues that have been at the forefront of recent discussions and unrest that we've witnessed on the national stage, but issues that Abington was already so far ahead of thanks to the wisdom of Ms. Ward. She was irreplaceable, and will truly be m...issed. "Now I say to you in conclusion, life is hard, at times as hard as crucible steel. It has its bleak and difficult moments. Like the ever-flowing waters of the river, life has its moments of drought and its moments of flood. Like the ever-changing cycle of the seasons, life has the soothing warmth of its summers and the piercing chill of its winters.
