Thank you, Educational Opportunity Center, for arranging a Zoom lesson from Dr. Mackarey on dissecting a cow eye.
A special THANK YOU to the Lake Winola Methodist Church Ugly Quilts group who brought us a HUGE donation of food. Thank you so very much for your kind, ongoing support!
Thanks CTC Ambassadors! What a great donation!!!!
BE ON THE LOOKOUT! Shekinah Harris, age 17. About 5’6 tall, slender build. Recently removed her braids. Last seen at 541 Wyoming Ave getting into a mid-2010s Nissan Armada dark green or greyish green. Damage to driver side front fender. Possibly light colored out of state plates - front and back. Maybe Maryland, Virginia, the old New York plates? at approximately 1:30 pm yesterday. May be in danger! Please call 911 if seen. Posted with her parents’ permission.

Join us on February 18, 2021 at 6:30 pm EST for a Question and Answer session with the producers of American Street Kid. The panel will also include some of the teens from the documentary. Your ticket includes access to the full documentary for a few days prior to Feb 18 and full access to the Q&A session. Feel free to prepare questions for the panel! This is a joint fundraiser for the two organizations. The cost of a ticket is $20. The link and the documentary trailer are here: https://showandtell.film/watch/americanstreetkid

It's Tuesday, December 1, 2020 and it is #GivingTuesday ! All proceeds raised today from this page and our Virtual Wheel page will support our Rapid Rehousing Program. Rapid Rehousing is an initiative of ours to get teens 18-21 off the streets into long term housing so that they can finish high school and make plans for their future. Our program offers financial assistance to the teen for rent and utilities, food, transportation and a Life Skills Coach who provides weekly lessons on becoming an adult. We rely on private donations to fund this program and our After School Teen Center. We do not receive any city, county, state or federal funds. Our goal for today is $15,000 to help fund 2021. You can donate here or bid on items on our Virtual Wheel page. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
One of our teens picking up her new laptop. Thanks, again, Amber Viola, Black Scranton & everyone else who donated!
Tuesday, December 1 is #GivingTuesday. This is our final effort to finish raising funds for our 2021 Rapid Rehousing Program. We are half way to our goal of $31,000. All funds raised will go to this specific program which includes supplemental rent, supplemental help with utilities, weekly sessions Life Skills Coach, food, transportation, furniture and more for up to 2 teens. Your kindness of heart and generosity of donations helped us fund this past year. The need is only increasing as the pandemic continues. We do not receive any city, county, state or federal funds at this time. We rely on our supporters. Thank you so much for continuing your support!
Through the amazing efforts of Amber Viola and her cohorts, we will have 9 new laptops to give to our teens so they can get back to school. 1000 times THANK YOU!!!!
Additionally, youth who identified as both LGBTQ and black or multiracial had some of the highest rates of homelessness. . #homelessyouth #homelessnessawareness #homelessyouthawareness #lgbtyouth
