NMIH would like to extend a huge thank you to the Manchester Tank and Equipment Company for their donation of two brand-new aluminum propane cylinders. They will be instrumental in not just showing the advancement of lightweight tank technology but will help fuel the museum's fleet of forklifts which provide extra muscle for our preservation and restoration activities. The Yale forklift shown here was donated by the late Charles Snelling and used at his Catasauqua, PA, warehouse. Snelling's father, Walter, founded the propane gas industry.

Held every second Tuesday in October, it celebrates women in science, technology, engineering, and math in honor of its namesake, Ada Lovelace, who is widely considered to be the first computer programmer. We join with other institutions across the world in thanking the woman engineers, entrepreneurs, teachers, lecturers, professors, researchers, technicians, and more that make the world a better place.

On Friday NMIH began a monumental move of a 900,000 lb artifact to its new home at the museum. Installed in 1891 when Bethlehem Steel was still Bethlehem Iron Company, this hydraulic armor bending press utilized 7,000 tons of force to create armor for battleships in the Spanish-American War, WWI, and WWII. Working closely with Wind Creek Bethlehem and A&A Machinery Moving, Inc., all components of the press have been relocated to NMIH and will now be reassembled in the museum's new outdoor park.
