The song "D-O-C" by our own Peter A. Evans from his 2010 album "Cricket") is a musical memorial to our larger-than-life late president Geoffrey "The Doc" Dougherty, forever a part of our party. It also an ode to our home on Van Pelt Street, lined with the portraits of departed singing members. "No worries, no woes."

254 S. Van Pelt Street, photographed on Tuesday morning. It has been our home since the 1928-29 season. Originally a carriage house, it was renovated into our first permanent club quarters by three architects (George Wharton Pepper Jr., Howell Lewis Shay, and Joseph P. Sims) who were also singing members of the Orpheus Club. We miss our beloved home, and look forward to returning to our regular Monday rehearsals when it is safe to do so. The German expression Gemütlichkeit roughly translates to the idea of a state or feeling of warmth, friendliness, and good cheer. For over 90 years, this is what we have associated with 254 S. Van Pelt Street.

"Bless This House," as sung by bass-baritone Benjamin Luxon, composed in 1927 by May Brahe with lyrics by Helen Taylor. Bless this house, O Lord we pray Make it safe by night and day Bless these walls so firm and stout... Keeping want and trouble out Bless the roof and chimneys tall Let thy peace lie overall Bless this door that it may prove Ever open, To joy and love Bless these windows shining bright Letting in God's Heavenly light Bless the hearth, ablazing there With smoke ascending like a prayer! Bless the people here within Keep them pure and free from sin Bless us all that we may be Fit O Lord to dwell with thee Bless us all that one day we may dwell O Lord! With Thee!
