At the Philly Kroc Center, our kids became composers as they put their theory knowledge to the test and created a four-bar melody!
Great to see music and arts programs growing at the Philadelphia West Corps!

Today's installment of "Pendel Ponderings" is a bona fide "Throwback Thursday," as Lisa Collier (Ministry Development Coordinator, Divisional Headquarters) gives some thoughts on "They Shall Come from the East" from the creative minds of John Gowans & John Larsson. This song was originally written for the musical "The Blood of the Lamb." The arrangement featured is by Kevin Larsson (Divisional Music Director, California South Division) and this video features pictures & clips from Pendel Music & Arts trips around the world over the years. Enjoy and be blessed.

In today's installment of "Pendel Ponderings," Major Kevin Zanders (Administrator, Philadelphia Kroc Center) offers some reflections on Henry Francis Lyte's "Abide with Me," set to the tune of William Henry Monk's "Eventide." This arrangement of the tune is featured in the 2015 edition of the Salvation Army Tune Book (T.B. 463).
Every week, folks from the Philadelphia Kroc Center come to the corner of Broad & Olney to minister to the people who pass by in different ways: through praying... with people, passing out food, sharing Scripture & testimonies, and with music! We decided to have some fun praising the Lord with a wee lil’ dance party! #AdventuresInPendel
Editing for the Pendel Fall Festival is well underway! You are all in for a treat next month when this video drops on Facebook & YouTube!
We had a great time of music and arts programs in Williamsport. About thirteen or fourteen young people were able to gather while socially distant and have individual lessons, band rehearsal, timbrels, ukulele, and troops meetings. Some of our older youth were also able to record themselves singing for our upcoming Fall Festival next month. Special thanks to Major Paula Spencer, Kelley Bowin, and their team for their hard work & dedication to making these nights happen safely & efficiently on a weekly basis.
Today's installment of "Pendel Ponderings" is made possible by Majors Dave & Jessie Irwin (Norristown, PA) and viewers like you. They will be sharing thoughts on Claire Cloninger's "Somebody Prayed for Me." This particular arrangement was done by Dean Jones and is featured in the tenth volume of the Salvation Army's "Sing to the Lord" publication.
Two years ago Pendel hosted the New York Staff Band. Here is the benediction from that concert "God Be With You Til We Meet Again" played by the NYSB and Pendel Brass.
So proud of my awesome, beautiful & talented wife who played the doxology on the piano for the first time in church this morning .....please like this post and ...give her some encouragement - these have been challenging days as she has been overseeing the virtual schooling of a 4th grader, a 2nd grader and a kindergartner! We appreciate you, Kelley! See more

During the Summer as part of the E-Camp project, we produced a number of videos of Sunday School Songs, These will be posted on our Youtube Channel (Pendel Music & Arts).
