Happy Martin Luther King Day of Service. All City Municipal offices are closed today. Unfortunately, there are no inmate visits today. Please stay warm and safe.

Had a great group of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania students join us yesterday to learn about career paths at the PDP!

On Monday, January 13, PICC will begin a project to improve security in visiting areas that will continue over the next week. Due to this project, inmate visits may have increased wait times. Every effort will be made to ensure that all visits are able to happen and that waits are as short as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to improve the safety and security of our facilities.

It's hard to believe, but we are about to meet our newest class of Philadelphia Dept. of Prisons participants and dogs! PDP administrative offices will be closed tomorrow to observe New Year's day. Inmate visits will occur as normal. Happy New Year!

Yesterday, Warden Giannetta kicked off the holiday season at Eastern State Penitentiary for their Annual Toy Drive announcement. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Eastern State until December 20th, and will be given to the children of women at Riverside Correctional Facility.

This holiday season, the PDP is collecting clothing for the seniors at Riverview Home. Donation boxes are located in each facility, and will be available till December 16. We are in need of unwrapped cardigans, sweatpants/sweatshirts, pajamas, slippers, or toiletry items to donate. Thank you so much for your generosity and spirit this winter!

The winners of our annual Thanksgiving Dinner giveaway have picked up their prizes! Thank you to everyone who donated, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks to our PDP family, the annual Thanksgiving Dinner giveaway was a success! Each facility was able to provide a complete turkey dinner to a family who has a loved one in our custody. We hope that by providing these meals,we can make their holiday easier. Holidays can be difficult for families. Things can be especially hard when a family member is incarcerated. Because of you and your generosity we helped people in need. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. You are appreciated!

Update!! Matt, a graduate of our Philadelphia Dept. of Prisons Philadelphia Phillies Class, is doing a wonderful job at ACCT Philly! Matt was hired at our partn...er shelter earlier this year and has come to be an asset to the Kennel Attendant Team. We are so proud of Matt and glad to see him #RewriteTheStory! Way to go Matt!
