Miley It’s what she does ~ this hanging around thing She is young & sometimes very shy but is a great kitty companion with other cats We see Miley becoming a part of a family with feline friends- she’s definitely less of a cuddle bug & more of a Queen & even unimpressed by humans not for lack of staff trying - Thats her personality 7 months old now, UTD, spayed, chipped, tested negative for FELV & FIV - litter box trained too! ... If you’re interested in adoption, applications are available on our website, if applicant is the right home for Miley, staff will contact potential adopter for a scheduled appointment pikecountyhumanesociety.org

Abandoned at PCHS on a torrential night, in a broken carrier- two callous individuals thought ‘abandonment’ was their best option to rid themselves of a responsibility as a guardian of an animal. We sought assistance from the State Police and submitted a report, as they left plenty of trails of evidence as to who they are. Though at this time, we don’t have any updates while this being under investigation, we are sharing this story to hopefully raise awareness & ask for h...elp. We’ve named this precious two year old girl, Stormy- She was terrified of everything over the first few days & who could blame her, we let her ease into positive routines and the gain of trust. Stormy began to relax. Stormy knew she was really safe Stormy is so gentle, so loving We scheduled a Veterinarian appointment to check her overall & upon testing, came to find out- Stormy was Leukemia Positive. A few weeks now have passed, Stormy in isolation, a secondary test was then preformed to find, she is in remission. Currently, Stormy is in remission. However- this does not change a need for the best placement we are hoping for. This disease can be managed & may even go into remission, flare-ups are always possible. FeLV can lead to cancers, ongoing susceptibility to infection, immune system suppression & severe anemia. Cats who are positive for the feline leukemia virus require special considerations. They can live with other species (dogs, bunnies and so on), but must be an only cat or live with other felines who have the disease. We are in search of a 501c3 Feline Rescue that strictly works with FeLV felines. Please help us help Stormy by networking for her Thank you in advance If you would like to help with any financial, denote Stormy Help & please visit our website: pikecountyhumanesociety.org Please contact our email below if you are this rescue we are in hopes for [email protected]

Meet Darling Sarge A super playful boy, at about 4 years young, neutered, UTD, chipped & ready for his knowledgeable of Mountain Cur Breed Family Sarge was abandoned at PCHS- we can only say, he’s a pleasure to have as part of the PCHS tribe All typical Cur traits - has lots of dog friends his size & activity level. If you have another large breed dog, mandatory meet/greet if app approved. No cats please, no smaller dogs please. He’s housebroken. ... Would love to hike as curious as his breed is, he’d love a hiking buddy We hope someone will see what a handsome, wonderful & loyal boy he is & hope to have him as a treasured companion in a new home.
