In case you needed another reason to visit Ploughman Cider Taproom’s grand re-opening on Friday - there’s new cider! Nay, a new SERIES exploring single variety ciders starting with our first ever Pét-Nat, a single varietal ‘Arkansas Black’ from our 2020 harvest. This young cider is a cloudy, vibrant, bright expression that leans heavy on the juicy, mimosa, tropical fruit notes. So very different from our other ciders in a very exciting way. Hits Ploughman Cider Taproom on Friday, Ploughshares Cider Club Wednesday (with a second club exclusive debut) and everywhere else you’d expect to find good cider after that!

We made a thing. This one is very different from the others. ‘The Plenum’ is a vermouth that combines an apple eau di vie and ‘Montmorency’ tart cherry juice, combined with bold, bittering herbs. This fullness of flavor and aroma, as the name implies, can be enjoyed straight like you would an amaro or fashioned into layered takes on classic cocktails; Negronis, Rob Roys etc. This first batch is VERY small and will be reserved for Ploughman Cider Taproom, farmers markets, and shipping (soon) to Ploughshares members only.

A duo of fun wines, just in time for the Holidays. Smooth but effervescent; Jules is a blend of Adams County Vidal Blanc and Riesling from 2019 vintage, fermented on their skins, and bottled Pét Nat. The same wine, bottled still; Jules’ partner Vincent (2019). Both are really fun, layered wines with spicy stone fruit notes. Neither of them work for Marcellus Wallace.

These birdwatchers are enjoying some local cider today. Don't forget to fill your birdfeeders and protect native & migratory songbirds. Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania does some great work - follow them and learn more!

We’re always eager to put our cider in cool spots where great people can drink it. And we love the Upper Susquehanna & The PA Wilds a great deal. That’s why we’re fired up to put our cider in Bloom Brews in Bloomsburg, PA. There’s a great selection of everything there with us but if you’re from the area, you already knew this!
